"do you ever wonder why things are the way they are?" "what?" i walk along the sidewalk while sunghee hops over each line. "like why houses are built a certain way or who decided the sky should be blue?" "i dunno. why don't you like the sky being blue?" "that's not the point." "you don't make much sense bubba." she starts to walk ahead of me and takes a turn. i sigh as i stroll along with her.

"i think auntie elhyun will be home tonight." she announces and twirls around to look at me. "we should invite joo over for dinner!" i watch her face start to light up with just the thought of him. she loves him a lot. i hum in agreement and she gives me a grin. we make our way over to a familiar small convince store and are greeted by a small old lady at the checkout, "hello," she says, "is there anything you're looking for today?" i give her a small bow. sunghee seems to have forgotten her manners and starts running her mouth.

"i'm looking for new stationary for school because all my old ones aren't as pretty anymore." she complains to the lady and i hit her arm slightly as a reminder. "oh yes, hello." she bows and i roll my eyes. the lady laughs and leads sunghee to all the supplies while i look around the store. i start to smile as fond memories begin to be recalled.

during the summer times when we were younger, joo and i use to race to this same store and buy as many flavours of ice cream with the little allowance that was given to us. "you always get the same flavour bubba!" i would complain in my squeaky 11 year old voice the few times sunghee would cry to join us. "you're ruining the point of the game." "i like this one!" she would press. "it's fine kyung. i like that one too." joo would reassure to suppress our little bickers.

i continue to look around the store and see a big ryan plushy. i pick it up and squish it a bit. december 31st had passed in a blink of an eye and sunghee's birthday was never properly celebrated. i glance over to her talking away with the lady and smile a bit. i must have really shaken her up now that i think about it, some big sister i am. i place the bear on the counter waiting for her to finish gathering her things.

as i continue looking around, a peculiar shine catches my eye. i can't make out what it is so i walk closer to find they're sailor moon keychains. i pick them up delicately and see that there are exactly two chains, artemis and luna. "are you thinking of purchasing those?" i look over to an older lady who seems to have been watching me. "no i was just looking." i smile at her and she nods.

"these chains are very old. i found them in the back a few days ago and realized they've never been out on display!" she chuckles a bit and cute little wrinkles form around her eyes. i look back at the characters and joo suddenly pops into my mind. "oh wait a minute dear let me check for something," she disappears into the back of the store and i go back to looking at the chains.

they're really adorable and i start to think of the possibility of having them. would joohyuk use such a childish chain? i envision him pulling out his keys and opening up his door with the sound of the metal hitting against each other. one of them being the sparkly artemis chain being content knowing luna would be just next door. i smile at the thought and ponder upon buying the set when the lady returns and hands me another chain.

"reminds me of your little one," she nods her head over to sunghee chatting away with the checkout lady. i look down to see she has given me the two cats kitten, diana. at this point i'm over the moon at how cheesy the whole set is but nostalgic since we treat sunghee as our own child. "i think i'm going to buy them after all." i tell the lady. "oh don't worry dear, you can have them. it seems as though they belong to you." she gives me yet another sweet smile and walks to the back of the store.

i call out a quicks thanks and put the chains into my little bag then make my way to the front to meet a display of every stationary sunghee's little fingers could nab. "i'll buy you two sets. that's it." i inform her and she shrugs with a smile. "i mean, you never know until you try, right? i stroke her long black hair and pinch her cheek. "you're something else sunghee." "i know." she grins.

as you've probably already figure out, yes this was a bit of a filler chapter since the last time I uploaded was in the summer I think ?? i'm really sorry

i will honestly try my best to continue writing !!!
