Sting sat at the end of his bed, his expression was painful to see, stuffing his face into his hands. Lector stood at his feet, staring up at him, worried. It was clear now, that the situation has finally gotten to him. His tears reflected the light at the corner of his eyes, waiting to trickle down his face.
" I'll be damned.. If I let anyone but you see me in this situation.. " He muttered, holding back the sobs that begged to get out. Lector looked up, his heart beating quickly, that Sting had finally put all his attention into him. " .. Rogue. " Lector stood there with an irritated look, yet quickly softened up at the memories of Frosch.
The ticking sounds of a clock was the only thing that broke the silence, besides the trembling of muffled cries through Sting's lips. He slid off the bed, falling to his knees on the floor, before slamming his fists down against the carpet. From his depressed state of mind, to the burning fury of revenge.
" WHERE ARE YOU?! " He screamed, distantly growling in his throat, as he held back the tears that began to make his heart ache. " Why.. Why have you left me like this? Why did you leave me? DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?! I just.. "
" Rogue.. I need you.. "
A voice arose from the shadows, cackling at Sting's pathetic form, mocking him of what little sanity he has left.
" Rogue! My darling, return to me! Come back my love! " At first, the evil in the voice hid it's pitch, but now.. it was uncovered. Revealed. The voice.. it was a girl? Sting blinked at the ground in disbelief before looking up to see no one but Lector.
Lector just stared in confusion, wincing at Sting. " Sting-kun? Are you okay, Sting-kun? " Lector quickly asked. Sting simply looked at him, his beat ramming against his chest, not allowing him to speak, even in the silence of the two.
" Rogue.. Don't forget me.. "
... Three.
Sting slowly stood up, looking around the room. His teeth grinded together in malicious anger, his fists clenched so tightly his skin began to turn pale and his body.. shook with ferocity. He began to shout, to no one in particular, to no where in mind, but to the darkness that seemed to laugh at his every move.
" What do you want from me? Who are you? Where is Rogue?! " He insisted, no, demanded. But the shadows refused to cooperate. Laughing. Mocking. Teasing. Sting finally realized what he was doing. Arguing with nothing? Does he still have his sanity left?
" Thy soul that dwells within' thy night,
Fear and pain to one's delight,
Then envy arose to thy light,
Until thy one was out of sight. "
Sting turned around to see Lector holding open a book. Well, more like leaning it against the ground, seeing it was too big and heavy for the small exceed to carry, let alone hold. Sting lowered himself down to his companion, looking to book then back to Lector.
" Lector? What are you reading? Now really isn't the time.. " He tried to reason with his partner, before Lector hesitantly shook his head. " Sting-kun! This book is magical! It has you and Rogue-kun! And Frosch and I! " Lector retaliated, but Sting just didn't have the will to believe it.
" Lector, It's just a book. "
" It's not! "
" It is. "
" Read it then, you will understand, onegai! " Lector pleaded. Sting sighed in defeat, taking the book from Lector's paws and brought it to his face. It looked sort of.. read-worthy, resulting in him sitting down, examining it thoroughly.
