Chapter 5:Unlikely Ally

It had been weeks since Young Do ate at SiYa's Place. Now he was looking at girl sitting next to him so engrossed in the movie. To be honest, this movie much better. He thought looking at SiYa's face which was like a kaleidoscope- each moment different mood. SiYa looked at him, she strangled a sob and ask "what?" He nodded saying "Nothing". He could not manage to keep his face straight.

Young Do had taken a back to know about SiYa. Secretary Yoon had come from the business dinner earlier that day. When he found Choi Young Do and Dong Won at the dinner table. Both the guys were at shock. They fumbled to get up. They got up and said their greetings. SiYa was standing at the kitchen enjoying the scene. "I have prepared rice. Can I get you a plate?" She asked her father. "No. Let's have fruits after your dinner. Of course if the boys don't mind me joining you." He said. "Animika. Please join us, Sir" Dong Won managed. Secretary Yoon Joined them. He told Young Do and Dong Won about SiYa.

She was an orphan from India. She was adopted by Secretary Yoon, when he had gone to India on one of his business meeting. He went to the market and got pick pocketed. He went back to the hotel, only to be called out in the late night. There he saw a girl about same age as Chang Young with long black fuzzy hair tied in a somewhat messy plaits. She had a warm smile. She held her hand out, Secretary Yoon saw his pocket. When he asked where did she found it? "I saw you in the market. And I went after those boys." She said. When he asked "Did you fight with them? Are you hurt?". She waved her hands saying NO. It was then he realized that she had skinned her hands.

He smiled. "I kept thinking about the little girl.  So next day was Sunday, I walked the entire market in search of her. But I could not find her. I felt so helpless. I sat on a bench in front of a Church. I prayed in my heart, If i could see the little angel once again. I closed my eyes with my hands. I felt a tap on my shoulder, I looked up and saw her. 'Did you loose your wallet again, sir? ' She looked worried. I told her that i did not. She took me to the church where she was in the choir, I sat there hearing her sing prayers and then to her orphanage. I asked her if she would be kind enough to be my daughter. She did not say yes instantly. to be honest it broke my heart little. She said she would think about it. For next entire week , we would meet. She showed me the market, place she was living. Then on the last day, I thought that I knew her answer. But I was wrong. She came to the hotel. She had brought me a present. When I was started opening it , she stopped me and said 'open it with your family when you reach home'. So I sat down on this very table with Chan Young. And opened it. It had a photo frame with our photo in it which we clicked sitting on the same bench in front of the church and a letter that said 'To this kind man's family' Chan Young opened it and when he read it he had tears in his eyes. He asked me to go to India and bring her. And when I asked him what was written in the letter, he simply refused saying ' it is a matter between siblings.'

She was living with Yoons for past few years. SiYa would visit her orphanage in India at least once a year. Whatever she would earn, she would donate most of it to the orphanage. That explained her working part time. Young Do had thought.

SiYa had become his best friend. He would love spending time with her and Jo Myung-soo. He missed her on the school camp. She knew that he had feelings for Cha Eun sang way before he confessed it to her. And Young Do knew about her little crush on Kim Won.
