"Ross, will you please stop moping. You're just making this harder." Ross sat in the drivers seat of Christi's bug, his face set in a scowl and eyebrows bunched. He apparently didn't like having to wait in the car, not at all.

I sighed, tipping my pounding head against the headrest, turning my eyes to the dash. 7:30, and Ross was being a jack ass. I opened my door and walked to his side, ignoring his bewildered gaze as I ripped his door open.

*Ross*

Lauren yanked my door open and straddled my lap, pulling it to a close again before adjusting herself on top of me. I wanted to smile, but the knowledge of time sat in the back of my mind. I had to protect her no matter what.

"Ross, stop." The desperation in her voice is what made me look up, the tears in her eyes are what slapped me in the face though. "Jesus, Renny stop that." I took her in my arms and forgot all about my bad mood. Relishing in the feel of her but wondering what's wrong.

"Ren baby what's wrong? I'm sorry okay, let's not do this. Let's go bac--" "No Ross! We can't go back after we've come this far. I was just upset because you were ruining what could be our last few minutes together."

I shut my eyes and squeezed them tight, holding Lauren closer with each passing second. I turned my face into her neck and just breathed, trying to commit her to memory. " I'm sorry, love. I'm sorry." Lauren relaxed slightly, shoving her hands between my back and the seat. My eyes unintentionally flicked to the clock. 7:40

*Lauren

Ross stiffened and clenched me in his arms and I knew he was looking at the time. " Ross in case it goes wrong, I just, I want you to know that you changed my life. This whole experience with you, I wouldn't have traded it for the world. Goodbye, Ross." His fingers dug into my back, but I couldn't care less. In all truth, I might not make it tonight. " I love you, Lauren, please come back." A tear slipped from my eyes and I swallowed a painful sob, kissing his cheek before getting out of the car.

I couldn't look back, if I did, I would turn around.

The park was once again quiet tonight, maybe a chirp here or cricket there but besides that it was nothingness. I clutched my own hands together and clicked my way to the meeting spot, the random wind gust blowing my hair in my face.

"Scarlett? That is you, right?" A deep voice asked from behind me. I took a breath, clicked my heels and turned around with a fake smile. " Yes. Scarlett Nadeen, pleased to meet you."
