We were situated in the hospital waiting room for what seemed like hours. Ross sat for about 2 minutes a peice, jumping up and pacing inbetween, while I just sat there stunned at what I had just seen.
The girl she looked lifeless. As if someone had just taken every piece of her. She looked, broken. I can only imagine what must have happened before we found her. What thoughts must have been running through her mind. if she'd survive, how long would it take for her to bleed out?
My thoughts were interupted my a pair of strong hands shaking my shoulders. I looked up to see Ross.
ROSS*
The doctors waltzed into the room as if they didnt just find and treat a victim." Sir, the girl is awake now, and would like to speak to you and the young lady. Her name is Marissa Vender." And with that statement they were gone. I looked over to Lauren, she looked like she was in a trance, or lost in her own little world.
I went to get her and nearly had to shake her just to look at me " Huh? oh is the girl alright? What happened? How is sh--" I clamped a hand over her mouth. " Shes in the room we can go visit her now. Okay? Now I'm gonna let go of your mouth now and your going to calmly shut the hell up and just follow."
LAUREN*
Normally if Ross had told me to shut the hell up I would have snapped. But for some reason I did, nodded my head and swiftly followed behind. We came to room 302, and stopped directly outside. We exchanged a glance, mentally preparing ourselves and opened the door, together.
"Marissa, thats your name right?" Ross asked in the softest tone Ive ever heard uttered from his mouth. The girl, Marissa? She was sat upright in her bed watching Seinfeld reruns. Her dark hair discombobulated about her head, and her pale form slightly more lifeless.
Yet she still looked.......broken. The girl snapped her head in our direction as soon as Ross spoke. She nodded her head. I decided to take it from there.
" Marissa...." I started as I took the place in the recliner next to the bed hesitantly. " I'm sorry to have to bring this back up, but we need answers. Who did this to you?" I wildly gestured to her black eye, messed up jaw, and stitches plasters on her forehead.
She spoke for the first time in a hoarse voice " The man, h-he...." Her voice started breaking. " It's alright, take your time, all night if you have to." I comforted. I truly meant it too.
" I was taking a walk in the park, meeting someone w-who I'd met o-online. Suddenly I was pulled into the b-b-bushes. He bashed my head with a brick, and punched me when I wouldnt stop screaming. Then you guys came and he ran off. And thats all I can remember." She stated so matter-of-factly I wondered if it was rehearsed.
" So wait---" Ross interjected. " You say you were meeting someone you had just met online, could the person you met ---" " Charlie." marissa cut in. " Charlie." Ross corrected " somehow be connected to your attack?"
She looked questioning for a moment, as in second guessing herself. She suddenly jerked her head up and said " I-I guess I-I n-n-neve thought of that." She said in a heart breaking tone.
" No!" She yelled suddenly bursting into sobs. I gave a screech of surprise. " No, No, No he told me he loved me, he siad we were gonna get married and have a million kids in a huge 3 story mansion. No!" She screamed again, in between sobs.
