Wally

Dick's POV
“Dude!” came the cry of a distressed teen from over the phone, “That's not even cool, grounding you like that,”

“Right? He didn't even know till Alfred had to go a blabber about it,” there was a pause then the voice continued, “Anyways, sorry about canceling last minute Wall-man,”

“No problem dude,” he could hear the smirk growing on his face, “you can buy me a Walmart cart full of food another time,”

A moment of silence before both sides burst out laughing at their inside joke.

Both teens caught their breath before saying their goodbyes.

“Bye Dick,”

“Bye Wall-man,” Dick said as he hung up, throwing his phone to the other side of the room. He ignored the clatter of it against the various things strewn around the room.

From the drone to the hoverboard in the corner. The phone might have cracked, but what did he care? Bruce would bye him another, without even a raised eyebrow to the fifth  shader phone this month.

He would only care if Alfred tore his attention away from ‘work’ and tattled on him.

Because of the old man's interference, Dick was now grounded. The ‘bat-cams’ tuned to ensure  he did sneak out, again.

With nothing better to do he laid down on his bed, and took a nap.

This is totally not astrous, Dick thought, he was about nine and he was forced to go to some charity event with Bruce.

A giant room with one wall being 80% window. Large thick blue drapes blocked out most of the night sky. Only a sliver of the sparkling sky could be seen.

Tables full of tiny rich people food and expensive punch.

‘Batman and his friends better catch whoever they're trying to catch before I die if boredom,’ Dick thought grumpily as he followed Bruce. A polite smile on his face, hiding his thoughts of just hiding under a table to play on his phone.

"Hello Berry," Bruce said, snapp
If you listened carefully you could hear his agnation for the speedster seep into his voice. Dick let out a small giggle at his adopted Father's annoyance.

The  Flash’s bright bubbling personality clashes horribly with the doom and gloom that was batman.

"Hi'a Bruce," The Flash replied happily then turned and whisper to Dick, " Hey Dick, my nephew is around here somewhere, hang out with him?"

Not really caring till he saw Bruce's announce, he agreed and wanted for him to get his nephew. A minute later Berry came back with a smaller version of him.

The small Berry had the same fiery orange bonfire hair, a freckled face, and green eyes. His eyes were a explosion of different greens, Dick could look at them all day and not see all the green in the other boy's eyes. The two adults left the children to their own devices.

"Hi, I'm Wally," the walking bonfire said as he extended a hand a bright smile on his face.

Shaking Wally's hand the younger boy replied, "Dick,"

"Whoa no need to be rude, dude!" The bonfire known as Wally exclaimed.

"It's my name, Dick," he said deadpanned

"O-oh, sorry," Wally said quickly then whispered, "Is there anything to do at these parties?"

"Yes there is," Dick stated, then grabbed the older boy's hand and dragged him a corner.

Hiding behind a large bushy plant he pulled out his phone.

"Dude!" Wally whisper-yelled when he saw the smaller boy's phone, "That not even out yet!”

“One of the joys of living with a billionaire,” Dick said as he began to type away on his phone.

“Are you ready for-" whatever he was about to show the walking bonfire was cut off by gunshots and screaming.

The sound of silence was shattered by the, zoom sound of his best friend’s ringtone. Groggily  the blackett opened his eyes. Swinging his arm around to find the hellspawn walking him from his slumber.

Finally finding the device, he answered groggily, “Hello?”

“OMGYOUWILLNOTBELIVEWHATJUSTHAPPENED!IWASWITHB-" came the overly excited voice of his best friend.

“Hay Wall-Man,”Dick slurred out as he slumped back into the warmth of his bed.

“Were you asleep?” He could hear his friend trying not to laugh at him. What did he care? Wally should be grateful that he would take time out of his beauty sleep to talk to him. And he let him know it.

“Calm down, its like,” a pause, “noon,”

“No wonder my eyes were burning,” he said scartasctly, “Now, what did you call me for, before Alfred  comes in and gripes,”

“My guy, give the man a break,”

“No, I'm still mad at him for getting me grounded,”

“Whatever, next time we see each other I have the BIGGEST news ever!”

“Bigger than Richard Grayson in a Central City Walmart?”

“Yes! This is bigger than when you found a batarang stuck in a wall!”

“Whatever, come over tomorrow and tell me,” Dick said referring to their usual meeting place.

“Wally,” Dick said as he sat next to his best friend handing him a drink. The bonfire next to him thanked him for the drink, not committing on his attire.

An old gray hoodie and a pair of jeans were enuffe of a disguise to Wally, but he knew his best friend had to go the extra mile. With the brown contacts and the dirty blonde wig.

“So what's the new my dude?” the now blonde asked mimicking his friend.

“So you know my Aunt Iris, right?,”

“The women I see every time I go to your house?” t. “Next you'll ask if i know Barry

Wally pouted for a second, as that was indeed his next question.

Then as if he thought of something clever to say he asked, “You know the Flash?”

“Yhea
“What about his partner?” Wally asked he  looked at his best friend.

Dick looked at his friend, trying to figure out how these things connected, then his face lit up with understanding.

“You're kidding,” His friend said in disbelief  sitting his drink down. The drink made a small thunk sound.

“How?”

“Promise you won't tell a soul,” Wally  said being completely serious. Seeing his friend nod in conformation, Wally began his tale of how he became kid flash.
