The Cat and The Bug

Natalie's backstory

Here is the story you've all been waiting for. yeah this wasn't technically in the book but I said I'd give it to you so here it is!

Natalie Carter was  born in Charleston, SC. When she  was three, she flew to Paris for a new life with her parents and brothers. Her parents bought a bakery, and she quickly picked up French and went to Tour de Eiffel Elememtary. This is where she meet her first real friend, Emma Welch. She grew up with Emma and her sister, Anna.

High school was where love flew in the air. Natalie took note of her friend's crushes, Anna's crush being Andre Bourgeois (pronounced boose- wah), and Emma's being Gabriel Agreste. Natalie did not have a crush herself, but liked observing her friends odd behavior. When Anna got around Andre, her palms got sweaty. When Emma got around Gabriel, she stuttered. Natalie thought is was the most hilarious thing and often teased the sisters about it and encouraged them to ask their crushes out.

Years later after college (not high school, actual college) , Natalie took over her family's bakery while also working. (She majored in business).  Anna and Emma were still her friends and married to their high school sweethearts. She felt like she had a gap in her life after she heard of Anna's husband becoming mayor and their beautiful baby girl, Chloe. 

Natalie decided to adopt a child to fill that gap. She Adopted a baby boy named Pedro. Pedro gave Natalie a joy that she had never felt in a long time. Unfortunately, Pedro got infected  with a deadly sickness called leukemia. Pedro soon died. Natalie grieved heavily. Emma heared of this tragic event. She tried comforting Natalie by coming over but Natalie was too depressed to say anything. Except when Emma said, it's gonna be alright. Natalie was furious stating  that Emma wouldn't know how she felt be cause her child hasn't died. Natalie pointed to the big round lump wher Emma's skinny tummy should be. 

Emma told Natalie that her child was going to need a godmother, and asked if Natalie would be the guardian of her child. Natalie suddenly delighted agreed and left her work to work for the Agrestes and sold the bakery to a nice young couple - Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng.  

Years later Natalie's still living with the Agrstes, and still taking good care of their 14 year old son, Adrien. Her godson.  One day Emma called for Natalie. Emma said that herself and Anna were going away, and that they may comeback. Emma gave away no clues of where they were heading. Natalie didn't care though, she trusted her friends. Natalie swore to be the best godmother in the history of godmothers. This is why she tries to get adrien a lot of freedom, and makes decisions for him his mother would usually help him with. She was so much of a mother to Adrien, and Natalie felt that way too.

Wow that connected a lot of dots, didn't it...

This backstory is based off of nothing but my theory's. :-)  Most of it is made up like the names. (Emma, Anna, the brothers, Pedro...etc.)
