Everything is Going Wrong

Chapter 9

It's 3:52 a.m.

I haven't gotten any sleep in the last 5 days.

I got up to get Alyna who was wailing.

I snuck over, hopeful to not waking Violet.

I grabbed Alyna.

"Shhhhh Aly. It's okay." I whispered as I slowly bounced her up and down.

I sat down in the rocking chair next to the bassinet as I fed her.

My phone started ringing and for some reason I just picked it up and answered it.

I just happened to be Jaiden.

I rolled my eyes as he started talking.

"Good morning I guess. Why are you up?" he asked.

"Alyna woke up. I'm feeding her now." I explained.

"How's Violet?" he asked.

"Fine." I said as I turned around to look at her laying in the bassinet.

She started stirring as a slight whimper came from her mouth.

"She's awake. Hold on a sec." I said as I laid Alyna back down and then picked up Violet as I hooked her oxygen nibblets to her nose.

"Do you need any help?" He asked as Alyna started crying again.

"Yeah. I'll get Mel up in a sec-" I started as a knock came from my window.

Before I had time to look over, Jaiden climbed through.

I started laughing when he got stuck on the window by his belt buckle.

He grabbed Alyna and slowly slipped the bottle back into her mouth to seize her crying.

He sat down on the edge of the bed.

"So," he began, "I really think we should give 'us' another chance. I really like you and I want to be there for my kids." he smiled as he looked at Violet in my arms.

I shrugged and spoke.

"I have some conditions." I started.

"Oh ok." he smirked.

"First, you come over whenever I call that I need help with the girls. Second, no more secrets or lies. And third, you go get me coffee tomorrow."

"Deal." he laughed as Alyna slowly drifted back to sleep.

"Well I guess my work here is done." He said as he kissed Alyna, Violet and I on the head and climbed back through the window.
