Chapter 13 [final chapter before sequel]

I woke up to my phone dinging.

You have one new Facebook notification!

I unlocked my phone to check the notification.

Melanie Thompson has posted a new status update!

I rolled my eyes as I decided to check the status update.

"Two pink lines!!! Can't wait to meet my baby in nine months! I love you Jaiden!"

I gasped for air as I read the post.

Melanie?

Pregnant?

I threw my phone against the wall as I laid my head in my hands.

I couldn't grasp this all at once.

Melanie was pregnant and she was having a baby with the one guy who is also the father of my children. And at the time, Jaiden didn't want to be a father, but almost a year later, he steps up just to be with his new girlfriend.

As I stressed, Alyna stirred in her crib.

I went to pick her up, and brought her into the bed.

Then Violet woke up.

I walked over and took the nibblets out of her nose.

I lifted her up.

She smiled and laid her head in my chest.

She looked up at me with a blank expression.

She could tell I was hiding something.

And boy was I.

Matthew and I got the girls situated in their Boppy pillows, in front of the tv.

My phone dinged once again.

Jaiden posted a status update.

"I'm gonna be a dad! So thrilled and so thankful to share this new milestone with the love of my life!"

"You idiot!" I screamed. "You already are a dad!"

Matthew came in after me.

"Babe, what's wrong?"

"Mel is pregnant. Jaiden's the father. It's not fair Matt! She didn't get pushed away like I did!" I screamed.

"Dylin, you have me."

"I know, and I love you. I'm just aggravated! Everything bad always happens to me! I can't do it again!" I yelled.

"Do what again?" Matthew asked.

"Matthew."

"Yes?"

"I'm pregnant."
