Chapter 18

KNOCK- KNOCK

He opened the door and his eyes glowed when he saw me. The happiness was shown all across him.

“Hi” he said

“Hi,” I said shyly “Fernando, this is Mallory and Mallory, this is Fernando”

“Hi, Mallory” he said

“Hi” she said energetically

He turned to me and smiled warmly, “Come in” he said

“Wow, your house is huge and beautiful!” Mallory exclaimed entering

“Thank you” he said sweetly

“So… what are we going to do?” I questioned

“Movie?” he asked

“Sure” Mallory said before I could

“I’ll get the popcorn” he said

“And I will help him,” I said “You can have a seat, Mallory”

She sat on the comfy couch while I helped Fernando. He handed me popcorn and I started the microwave.

“Remember to wear something pretty tomorrow” he reminded me

“What do you mean by pretty?” I asked, confused

“Not casual, a bit formal and something having a nice color scheme” he explained

I nodded and smiled, he gave me a smile too. The ‘make-me-melt’ smile I mentioned before. He was staring at me and I was staring back and for an instance, our eyes met. I don’t know if it was true but inside his eyes I could see something that told me that I meant a lot to him.

Our face was about 5-7 inches apart and that distance was decreasing; he was getting closer. I could not breathe. I could see a smile playing at the edge of his lips because of my reaction to the little distance. Everything seemed to stop.

It seemed like nothing could stop us. But I was wrong one again. There was a bell on the door, we were conscious of our position once again. And to provide clarity to be conscious, the microwave beeped.

“I-I’ll get the door” I stuttered

“Okay” he said and smiled

As I walked to the door, I thought of the possibilities that could be here but no positive thoughts came to my mind. And the negative thought was of Olalla. What if she had come? What would she think? I shuddered at the thought and opened the door.

“Good evening ma’am,” the person said “Here’s your pizza and bill” he handed me the pizza and the bill

It was a large pizza or maybe extra large.

“Geez, who is gonna eat that” I muttered

“You are” I turned and saw Fernando with his wallet. He smiled at me and I rolled my eyes.

Fernando gave the money to the pizza delivery guy and he left.

“Who do you think it was?” he asked me with a chuckle because of my stoned face.

“Um…Olalla” I admitted and he assured

“She won’t be back till midnight or even later”

Phew!! I thought and smiled

“Come on” he said grabbing my hand back to the living room.

“Ally, come on” Mallory said “We’re gonna watch The Titanic”

“Okkaaaayyy” I said reluctantly

 Pop corn and pizza was already on the table. I sat in the middle, Mallory on my left and Fernando on my right.

“What were you two talking about over there?” she whispered in my ear

I blushed and shook my head.

“Is there something going on in between you two?” she whispered again

“No” I said and she giggled quietly

Anyways, the movie started and Rose is telling the story. I did not pay much attention to the movie because I was glancing back and forth from Fernando’s face stupidly.

It took about two and a half hour till Jack died and Rose was saved. And it was emotional and this time I could hold back my tears unlike the first time I watched Titanic. Mallory had tears coming out of her eyes and was sobbing. Anyways the movie ended and I was really sleepy. I personally didn’t think that movie was a classic, but could watch it without complaining.

So, Mallory was all better again and asked me,

“Are you ready to go home?”

“Okay” I said yawning

“Are you sure, Ally?” he asked

“I don’t know” I said

“I’ll drive and you can sit by me” Mallory said and I nodded

“Could you come here for a second, Ally” Fernando asked

“Sure” I said
