Discovery: Summer Rose X Male Reader

Part 1

A familiar scent of breakfast has awakened Ruby Rose as she found herself opening her eyes in her own home. Her body still felt sore from the previous battles before she fell unconscious in the volcanic land.

Ruby: ... I'm home?

Taiyang: Of course you are.

Ruby: Da-

She stopped herself until she began to remember her final battle against her real father. It felt strange to continue calling Taiyang her father.

Taiyang: ... Qrow told me what happened...

Ruby: ... I killed him...

She was unable to hold in her tears as she broke down once again after telling the truth.

Taiyang: ... Ruby you have to understand...

Ruby: UNDERSTAND WHAT?! He was my dad yet uncle Qrow tried to kill him in the first place!!

The blonde male was shocked at Ruby's tone of voice. He wondered as to why she began to defend somebody that has killed Summer.

Taiyang: Ruby... He was the one who killed your mom!

Ruby: NO HE DIDN'T!

Taiyang: Ruby Rose -

Ruby: Don't give me that! He loved her! He showed me before he died!! There's no way he would do such a thing!!

Taiyang: We saw it with our own eyes!

???: Every single one of you from Team STRQ witnessed an illusion. There is one other person who saw through the false images.

The voice made the two of them stop and look at the doorway to find a short haired blonde woman with orange tips. She wore some form of priestess robes while holding an elegant wooden staff.

Taiyang: Corona?

Corona: Its been over a decade. Hello Ruby, my how've grown after all of these years.

The woman then looked at Taiyang.

Corona: I'll take things from here.

Taiyang: But I-

He was unable to continue since the high priestess simply stared him down until he sighed and left the room.

Corona: *ahem* Anyways, I've heard about your encounter with your father. I do hope you understand that he isn't the man everyone says he is.

Ruby: I saw it... He showed me some of his memories... I-I feel terrible for yelling that he wasn't my dad...

Corona sat near Ruby and placed a gently hand on her head to soothe her from the emotional pain.

Corona: It's alright. You were misguided at the time and your father has already forgiven you for it.

Ruby: ... Who knows about what happened that day?

The high priestess let out a small sigh since it will be difficult to say the next words.

Corona: His former team mate, Snow. She witnessed the whole thing, in fact she visited our monastery afterwards... But... She's been missing ever since that day...

Ruby: I see...

Corona: Although... I have been keeping touch with another of his former team mates. This man dedicated his life to tracking her down until the day he dies. Perhaps he might have some leads.

Ruby jumped at the chance and stood up from her bed.

Ruby: Where can I find him?

Corona lightly smiled at Ruby's eagerness.

Corona: I'll take you to him. After all, if it weren't for your father and mother... I wouldn't be here to this day so I'll help you in any way I can until the end.

Ruby: I-I don't what to say...

Small Timeskip

Taiyang: So you're really going through with this.

Ruby nodded at his words as her and Corona stood outside of the house, ready to leave.

Ruby: I'm sorry... I feel as though this is something I have to do.

The both of them turned away and began to walk. Taiyang could only stand and watch as Ruby walked away from his home. It was unbearable to watch yet, he also began to feel guilty about hiding the truth of her true father.

Yang: She left again, huh?

Taiyang: Yeah... All we can do is hope she finds what she's looking for.

Back With Ruby

Ruby: How did you know my dad?

Corona: We used to live in the same orphanage. We were practically siblings although one day, a group of priests and monks visited one day. They saw I carried something special so they took me in. I reunited with him after a few years when he was together with Summer. Eventually they were engaged and they gave me the honor to unite them in marriage.

Ruby felt some form of happiness after hearing about you and Summer.

Corona: There isn't much I can say at the moment but I'm sure Ranger will share his side of his memories.

Ruby: Who's Ranger?

Corona: The person we are going to meet. He is one of your father's team mate and closest friend.

Unbeknownst to them, somebody was following far behind.
