Discovery: Summer Rose X Male Reader

Part 4

(Y/N): You're finished...

There stood, another version of yourself, next to a cliff while holding a heavily injured black haired woman. Blood dripped from her body as she was unable to move from the immense pain as well as the fact that she wad practically dangling over the edge.

Raven: ... You were never like this...

(Y/N): That's because my former self is gone.

Her red eyes widened under her cracked mask. That is until you simply let her go and walked away as you dropped her off of the cliff.

As Raven fell, she began to have regrets about not being able to discover the truth before the battle. At least she was able to stall enough time before you reached your daughter.

Raven: *in thought* Perhaps I should have accompanied them... Rather than following them far behind....

She thought the end was near until a pair of arms caught her in mid air. She was unable to comprehend the last minute save as she passed out during the fall.

Back With Ruby

Ruby: Wow... He seemed like a completely different person than when I met him.

Ranger: *small laugh* He was always itching for a fight, hell he constantly got into fights with Raven.

Ruby lightly giggled after hearing about the former personality of her father.

Ranger: Anyways, lets see... We completed the mission... Thankfully no one was hurt

Flashback

Ranger: Cabron! You could have failed the mission! You're lucky it was only beowolves in that cave.

(Y/N): Sadly it was only beowolves...

Joanna: Something different would have been fun actually...

Ranger could only sigh and shake his head before lightly chuckling at his team mates. Perhaps it would have been more enjoyable to him if he was able to pick off larger targets.

???: H-hello everyone!

Everyone in your team turned around to find the one and only, Summer Rose.

Snow: Summer!

Snow happily jumped at her friend as to which the both of them happily hugged each other. As soon as they separated, Snow quickly returned to her spot by your side.

Summer: I heard about your last mission. Good work everyone!

(Y/N): Ohh stop it!

Ranger groaned at your response while the girl in the white cloak giggled. After she finished her laugh, she lightly blushed and began to twiddle her thumbs.

Summer: H-hey (Y/N)... I was wonde-

She was interrupted by a sudden blur that shot past her. Summer blinked once to find one of her own team mates trying to stab you with her sword. Thankfully you were expecting the surprise attack as you pushed Raven away with a weapon from your collection.

(Y/N): Seriously not cool. Summer was going to tell me something.

Said person snapped out of her thoughts of gaining revenge on Raven for the rude interruption.

The red eyed huntress simply let out an annoyed hum before sheathing her weapon and walking away.

Joanna: I'm glad she only attacks you like this but geez, its as if she's actually trying to kill you.

(Y/N): Who knows... Anyways what were you going to say Summer?

She snapped out of her thoughts again and decided to pull you away from the group by hand.

(Y/N): Hm? What's this about?

Summer: U-umm... Well you see... I was wondering what you'll be doing this saturday.

You lightly scratched your head to think about the question.

(Y/N): Hmm nothing much. I was thinking about heading with Ranger to buy some dust.

Ranger: Spot's been taken by Snow!

Snow: Eh?!

You simply shrugged as an answer since you weren't doing anything.

Summer: Great! How about me and you go an a picnic?

(Y/N): Sure, I'd love to!

You never realized as to why she was very happy.

Summer: Awesome! I'll meet you near the landing pads saturday morning! Bythewayyou'reprovidingthefood!

She ran off waving at you although you barely heard the last sentence since she was running.

(Y/N): Hey why am I-... Nevermind...

You turned around to find Ranger and giving you knowing grins while Snow was still confused by Ranger's statement.

(Y/N): What?

Ranger: Seriously, primo? She just asked you-

Jonna: Don't! Let him figure it out on his own!

Flashback End

Ruby: *laugh* He didn't even think it was a date?!

Ranger: Literally right after they came, he said "That was actually a date."

Ranger, Ruby, and Corona laughed from the story.

Ranger: Well, least he treated it like a date since he really wanted to impress her by making cookies for her. He even came to me for help.

All three of them laughed once again as they finished their breakfast. Ranger was going to continue his story until a sudden shake occured. They were confused until an alarm went off making Ranger suddenly jump into action.

Ranger: Probably a grimm attack...

He immediately ran out of the kitchen to activate his defenses.

Corona: ... It doesn't feel like grimm...

Ruby: Hm? What do you mean?

The high priestess stood up and made her way toward the front door. Ruby followed behind since the disturbance began to make Ruby's spine tingle.

Ranger: ... What the hell is that?

They heard is voice through an intercom near the door and decided to look out a nearby window. Once they peered through the glass, the can tell that the winds have began to pick up intensely as a few trees were already knocked over.

Corona: Oh no...

In the distance,  they saw what looked to have been the largest tornado anyone has ever seen. The clouds were pitch black with lightning crackling inside as it slowly made its way towards their location.

Corona: I-its unnatural!

For some reason, Ruby felt drawn to the intense twister and began to resist the urge to run towards it.

Ruby: I-its him!

Corona looked at the red cloaked teen in confusion before beginning to understand her words.

Corona: Listen... If you feel that you must go... Then go... Perhaps there's a way you can help your father.

Ruby hesitated before nodding and quickly ran out of the front door.

Meanwhile

Raven opened her eyes with a headache although she couldn't feel any form of injury at all. She sat up and inspected herself to find that she was no longer wounded.

Raven: But I thought I was...

She shook her head and looked in the far distance to find the unnatural phenomenon.

Raven: *in thought* Hopefully she's prepared... This version of (Y/N) is unlike anything I've ever faced...
