Welcome to the P.O.V. of Axel
------------------------------------The moment I saw Jayden on the ground with a Glock 19 pointed at her head I knew I was completely obsessed with her. As soon as the man began to pull the trigger I'd already done so and he was on the ground dead. I didn't even bother to stop to see where I'd hit him, I was at my girlfriends' side checking her pulse.
It was there, faint and fluttery, but there. I sighed in relief as I glanced behind me to see the Anz boy... Drake. I hated him to death but needed his prowess at the moment.
Before I could say anything he was at Jaydens' side, checking her pulse as I'd done. The grim look that covered his face and consumed his features told me nothing good. He threw off his backpack quickly, unzipping it and pulling out medical scissors. I groaned, already feeling nauseous... I hated all the medical stuff, surprisingly. I spent a lot of time being stitched up and fixed by Doctor Anz, but I still couldn't stomach the fact that there could be a needle digging into my thin skin, or, in this case, metal scissors sliding into a bullet wound.
I moaned again as I spun around, covering my mouth as I felt the vomit rising to my mouth. I had to get out of here... Quickly.
I hopped up and ran out, needing to know that we were safe to treat Jayden in that cellar. I saw a strange man fighting another. They looked like they'd been locked in battle for some time, and both men looked weary but strong still. I stopped as I watched their fight, one man made a move that the other blocked then countered, the other would block the counter attack and would kick out and get blocked or thrown but would hop back up and run back at the other man. Bodies were strewn about, blood spattered trees, wet and dark against the lightly colored bark. I wasn't disgusted at all, instead I wanted to join them. I was about to join the fight when I heard a knife slide from a sheath. I spun around to see a man, grinning at me. It was a scary and menacing grin, but I wasn't fazed.
He let out a cry as he ran at me, the menacing grin still posted on his face.
I assumed the man thought he would win, and I used that to my advantage. Pretending to be weaker than him as I struck out slowly and let the man block. He tried to grab me and I slithered from his grip. I kicked out a leg and caught the man behind the knees and I smirked as he collapsed with a huge grunt. My next hit was to his head to knock him out and I was returning my gaze to the two fighters.
I recognized one as Talon Montgomery, the other I'd heard about once or twice before. He was in Montgomerys' files. Rick Montgomery... I sat there in shock when I realized Talons' son was fighting him. No wonder they were so fairly matched... They were father and son. I would get the story later, I knew I had to kill Talon Montgomery, but they never said anything about his son.
I would leave him for questioning.
I slid forwards, sliding my knife out quickly as I pounced upon Talon, sliding the knife over his throat, I looked at his son who stared at me in shock. The man slumped forwards as if defeated. He obviously had been set upon killing his father and... Now that his father was dead he didn't know his purpose. Jayden would have the same problem.
I rubbed my hand over my face and hair, feeling dirty and rugged. I looked back up at the man who was still slumped. His shoulders shook and I assumed he was crying, but when the man looked up he had a smile upon his face. He was...
Laughing.
The man was nuts... He had to be far too devastated by his fathers' death, and was laughing just to do something. I sighed and grabbed out handcuffs from my backpack.
I placed Ricks' hands behind his back and cuffed him quickly and began to walk the man back to the cellar. The others were standing there, well... Talia was on the ground as Mrs. Anz tended to her wounds.
Jayden was against the wall, sitting there awake. She looked dizzy and her eyes were half closed, still, when Mrs. Anz or Drake tried to check her wounds or help her in any way she waved them off to help the others.
Mrs. Anz had met us at the airport the moment we'd found out Montgomery and his men were at the library. She had been supposed to bring others, but the others hadn't come because they'd been looking for Jayden.
A second passed before I realized Tangos Carmen and Casey wasn't there...
I looked around again.
There was Drake, almost uninjured since he had been tending to Jayden for awhile until she'd probably woken up and told him to treat someone else. Drake had a somewhat deep cut at the side of his head from a knife. It had come from the man he and I had encountered while coming down here. I'd received a knife wound on my arm from the same man before Drake had stepped in like the idiot he was.
Then there was Talia who had, at first, refused to leave Drakes' side but had been split from us when the man had attacked. Now she was saying she'd fought two at one time. She had a bullet in her leg and two more knife wounds to go with it.
Mrs. Anz had a burn on her arm, somehow, but nobody dared question the doctor who we relied on to SAVE OUR LIVES.
I heard an agonized scream and I was out of the room in an instant, running up the stairs. There was a boy there, he looked dizzy but had a knife in his hand. Tangos was... Holding an injured Casey who had the... The...
"NO!" I scream burst from my lips within seconds and I was on the boy in less than that, beating the boy senseless. The boy soon fell limp beneath me and I stopped, red still clouded my eyes as I looked around in rage. I snarled when I saw ... Casey on the ground, bleeding out and pale. Tangos was gone, probably to get an Anz for help.
I was kneeling next to Casey and holding the young boys' hand and whispering.
"Casey..." I murmured to the boy, and he looked up with stony eyes.
"Axel... The boy had been un-" He broke up and coughed, blood dribbled down his chin and I turned around to keep the vomit at bay.
When I looked back, Casey was placing something in my hand. It was a small wooden carving, a wooden figurine. Casey had been exceptionally good at wood carving. I sighed as I looked down at the boys' eyes which were open and unseeing.
My best friend.... Was gone.
