Arran's pov
I was sitting in my room, my head in my hands as I waited for Megan to come home. I needed to apologise for everything I said. I shouldnt have told her the kiss meant nothing. I had probably lost any opportunity I had with her.
My bedroom door was pushed open and there stood an angry Chase.
"Why did you kiss my sister and then tell her it meant nothing?" He asked squaring up to me. Wait that was his sister?!
"Because Im an idiot." I admitted.
Megan's head appeared from behind Chase. "What?" She asked confused. Chase looked between us.
"Maybe you two should talk." Chase said before disappearing.
Megan sat down beside me and a moment later we heard the front door close. She looked at me expectantly.
I ran my hand across my face. "Look, this is all new to me, so I wont always get it right, but I want to get to know you, the real you. And hopefully you will give me a chance to make this up to you." I said.
She raised my head, pressing her lips gently to mine. "There are somethings I cant tell you-" I tried to cut her off but she kept speaking. "Yet, its not safe for you to know, but one day I promise I will sit you down and tell you everything. Please, I know I havent given you reason to, but please just trust me." She begged.
I didnt press the matter, I mean we all had issues and stuff we didnt want to drag others into.
I kissed her again, this time using the opportunity to explire her mouth further. I was the luckiest guy ever, but I would get her to tell me the truth one day.
Megan's pov
I had to think. If Chase had found me, it wouldnt be long before my dad did too. I had to decide what I wanted to do. I looked at Arran and knew there was no chance of me leaving him. He was the first boy I had ever gotten attatched to and I wanted to linger on that feeling for a little longer.
I guess part of me always knew it would come to this. My death or my fathers. I knew I wasnt a killer, but if I ever wanted a chance of this working-whatever this was-with Arran, I had to get rid of the problem. I had to get rid of my father.
"Are you coming we're going down to the track?" He asked.
"Yeah, but I'll catch up." I said smiling.
"Okay." He said, kissing me again and standing up and heading downstairs. In the mist of everything I had forgotten about todays race. When I heard the front door close I headed into my room to grab my leathers and helmet before heading downstairs towards my bike.
I was about to walk out the front door when it opened and an older woman and man walked through the door.
"You must be Megan?" the woman said.
"Yes, you must be Mr and Mrs Powers." I replied.
"Please, call us by our first names, Im Daniella and this is my husband Hayden." the woman said.
"Its nice to meet you. Heading down to the track?" Hayden asked.
"Yeah, but please dont tell Arran, he doesnt know. No one does." I said nervously. I cant believe I had been so careless.
Hayden's eyes traveled to my helmet. "Dauntress. You little lady have created quite a reputation on the track. My daughter tells me you have broken my record." He said grinning.
"Yeah-Wait your the Hayden Powers?!" I asked. "You were like my absolute idol growing up!" I squealed.
"Im glad someone is interested in my work. Do you mind if we come watch you race? I havent had the chance to watch you live yet?" He asked.
"Not at all, but..." I trailed off.
"Dont worry," Daniella said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Your secret is safe with us. But Arran is like his father, he'll find out eventually." She said grinning.
"Yeah, well in that case I will definitely tell him." I laughed. "Well, when I can be bothered." I said scrunching up my nose as Hayden and Daniella laughed.
"Well lets go."
