Love. It is the word that defines the book that you have in your hands. Or at least that was the message we, me and Thais, wanted to pass on.
Kiss me in Barcelona tells a love story that is very mine and my wife's. Most of what is here actually happened. Often with the same words.
However, it is impossible to remember everything and, for the sake of narrative, some elements have been added to make the reading more enjoyable. That is why we chose to change names – it would be unfair to create stories and even antagonisms for our friends and leave them at the mercy of others' opinions when, in fact, we had the most wonderful days in Barcelona.
The book tells our story. The way we remember it, the way we adapted it in our heads and the way we thought it would be good to share. The way, finally, we thought you'd like to read it too.

Though I had dreamed about the publication of this book, I had never imagined that the book would receive an award even before being printed.
I am indebted to the Secretary of Culture of the State of Espirito Santo, which, through the Call for Production and Dissemination of Literary Works, guaranteed the publication of Kiss me in Barcelona.
I want to thank my wife for allowing me to tell our story to the whole world.
Thanks also to family, friends and colleagues who supported me and helped me in many ways during the months I spent slowly writing the following pages.
