Bellamy's POV
School had started on Wednesday, but now it was Friday. We had our first football game of the season tonight and kick off party of the school year. It was going to be a good weekend.
It was only Friday morning though, which meant I still had to make it through school today. Wednesday and Thursday were okay. Our teachers did nothing but talk about the upcoming year but it got kinda boring after a while.
I knew today that we would be getting weekend homework to do Most of the school staff knows the students' tendencies to celebrate after football games or just regularly party during the weekend. That means they pound us with homework on the weekends to try and get us to minimize those "dangerous" times they call it. Too bad it wasn't stopping Murphy or me.
"Bell! Bellamy!" I hear Octavia yelling all the way downstairs. She keeps screaming my name.
I grab a random shirt out of my closet, throw it on and yell back down to her, "Octavia, stop yelling!"
As I walk downstairs, I see her sitting on the floor and her backpack clutched in her arms. She is staring at the clock displayed on the oven.
"I'm going to be late for school!" She yells loudly, pointing at the clock. The power must have gone out overnight because it was flashing a random time.
I tried to explain to her that she still could make it to school on time but she has to get up and get ready to go.
"Go hop in the car, I'll be right out." I say to her as I grab my bag, water bottle and keys. When I get into my car, she's already buckled up and ready to go.
We had to stop by and grab Murphy before I dropped her off at the "Before School Program" thing. They serve her breakfast there and help with any homework from the previous night. That happens for an hour before actual school starts for her.
As I pull into Murphy's driveway, I honk my horn to let him know I'm here. When he doesn't come out for a little bit, I honk again and under my breath I say, "Where the hell is he?"
That cued Octavia yelling, "Oooohhh, you said a bad word!"
Murphy finally got in and we sped off to drop Octavia off then head to school before we were too late to even show up for first block.
We had Latin first and we took our time getting there. Our teacher milled around in the hallway before class to make sure there was nobody lingering.
Murphy and I could tell that Latin was already going to be super easy for us. I think even Miss Simmons felt bad for us, she would always give us an "I'm sorry you ended up here" look.
Finn finally came in, late as usual, and sat to my right. He was wearing his bright red football uniform, just like every other player on the football team, which included Murphy. I used to play football in elementary and middle school, but never really was interested in playing for the high school team.
Instead, I was a hockey player. They took me up to varsity during my 8th grade year because I was that good. I didn't even know 8th graders were allowed to play up but there was some way my coach figured it out. Not only did I make varsity my 8th grade year, I was a pretty consistent starter and didn't spend too much time warming up the bench.
