Chapter 13

I'm still munching on the ice cream but I'm now cuddled in the blanket against the arm of the couch and Ryan turned on The Crow on Netflix because I told him it was my favorite movie. Thank God Jonathan said he'd call me next time I need to come in and thank god I don't work my other job tonight, I think to myself as I recite my favorite line in perfect sync with the movie, "It can't rain all the time." I smile as I take the last bite and rest the empty container on the coffee table and I look over to Ryan who is half watching the movie, "penny for your thoughts?', I say as I turn towards him. "What?", he says as he snaps back to reality and I give him a look. "It's nothing", he says as he looks off to the side, "well 'nothing' has you in some pretty deep thought over there so it's either a) something 2) someones or tres) food." He flashes a smile and looks down, "I remember you from one of the times you met us." My face goes beet red and my hearts beats as fast as a Pierce The Veil song. "You do?" I say shyly. "Yes, but it's been a few years. You were with a girl and she was beautiful. She had short brown hair and beautiful eyes and she was wearing one of the band's older shirts." I almost dropped everything when I realized he was talking about Cole. He remembered her from that long ago? Ryan looked away from embarrassment as I picked my jaw up from the floor. "Ryan! That's my best friend Cole! I bought us those tickets and meet and greets for Best Friend's day like 3 years ago! She's in her own band now and they're on tour, she's gonna be here in like 2 weeks for her birthday and she's gonna stay with me afterwards for like a week or so-" "She's gonna be here?!" Ryan cut me off. For a man that never really shows emotion I swear I just saw every last one of them run across his face. Fear, confusion, anxiety, doubt, all topped off by the little twinkle of excitement in his eyes. "She's really amazing and quirky and you're gonna love her!" "I- I don't know Melodie, the last time I saw her was 3 years ago and I wasn't really able to talk to her because from what I remember someone had a panic attack when Chris touched her." He chuckled out as he shook his head at me. "Hey! I was barely 18 and it was the first real time I had met you guys give me break!" I said I'm defense as he playfully rolled his eyes. "Does she still look as beautiful as before?", Ryan asked with an innocently smitten look in his eyes as he leans over, "looks don't matter", I say playfully shoving him off me as I reach for my phone that thankfully stayed in my pocket all night and didn't die, "but lemme tell you, she's hella gorgeous!" I say as I show Ryan a picture of Cole on my phone. "Wow!", Ran says as he takes my phone, "like what you see?", I ask as I giggle, "she's wow", Ryan says in response, "Awww! you like her!", I exclaim as I take my phone back and get a grumpy look from Ryan. "She seems... nice", he says with a hint of blush on his cheeks, "and I can't wait to meet her", he says with a small smile. "I can't wait for you guys to meet either", I say smiling back as my phone rings, "It's Cole!", I exclaim as I hear her ringtone go off. I can see a little twinkle of excitement in Ryan's eyes as soon as I hit the talk button. "I miiiiiiiisssssss yoouuuu", she says as she exaggerates the words. "I miss you too dude! Things have been crazy!", I say as I sneak a glance over at Ryan who's staring at my phone. "Things have been crazy here too! The fans have been absolutely crazy and the tour itself has been absolutely phenominal!" "That's awesome Cole Ranch Dorito!" I reply calling her by her nickname, "what's all been going on there?", she questions, "nothing much since graduation", I reply as I shoot a smile over in Ryan's direction. "I started an internship at a small recording studio in LA, so I've met a few beginner bands, no one too impressive", I say as I put a hand over my mouth to hold in a giggle as Ryan rolls his eyes at me, "hey, ya never know", Cole replies innocently. "True", I say with a smile, "I ran into Ronnie-", "bitch", she interrupts, "I'll explain more when you're here but yea he's an asshole but I met another guy", "WHAT?", she straight up yells and I start laughing, "spill the tea!", I start laughing as I see Ryan now giving a concerned look. I let out a big sigh, "His name is Chris-", "Girl hold up speaking of Chris, did you see where your mans and my mans put up a picture together on twitter looking like the whole motherfucking buffet?", I instantly start blushing as I see Ryan cover his mouth to hold in his laughing. "Cole I have no idea what you're talking about", I say pretending to play dumb, "CHRISTOPHER THOMAS FUCKING CERULLI AND RYAN SEXY ASS SITKOWSKI!, I let out a small giggle. "Oh yea, Cole you really love Ryan don't you?", "Melodie quit playing, you know I love me some Ry Ry." At this point Ryan has become a red blushing mess and so I decide to kick it up a notch. "If you could describe your love for him in one sentence what would it be?", "Hmmmm well he's amazing in every way possible tbh. He's so talented and smart and cute and funny and adorable but there's just something there, something about him that draws me in and I honestly cant figure it out. I'm not sure I ever want to tbh... That sounds creepy, I didn't mean to sound creepy. I'm just a fan and of course I love him platonically but of course ya can't help but have a crush on the fucker." "Awww!" I exclaim as my phone vibrates, a text from Jonathon to come in, great, "hey dude, I gotta go to the studio because they need me but I love you so much darling! and I can't wait to see you on your birthday! I have a huge surprise for you!" I reply as I jump up and notice Ryan got a text from Jonathon too, "alright, I love you too! and oh gah I can't wait have fun at work bye", "bye" I respond as I hit the end button and look over at a still blushing Ryan. "So?" I question, "We're gonna give her the best birthday ever!", I let out a little squeal and hug him as we both head out the door.
