Chapter 19

As soon as I look at the message I can't stop smiling and I shoot a huge smile at Cole, "Mel... what's going on?", he says sounding weirded out. "Oh nothing", I say singsongy, "come on let's go eat pizza and watch serial killer docs to end your birthday on a high note", I say as undo her seat belt and practically backflip out of the car. "I got it!", I scream opening Cole's door before she has the chance to as she shoots me a concerned glance. "Honey how long have you been off your meds?", I let out a long exaggerated laugh, "Haha meds! Ha! Let's go!", I exclaim as I pretty much drag her up the driveway to the door. I let out a squeal as I put my key in and turn it to open the door, I push the door aside and walk in to my seemingly empty house as Cole follows and I just giggle and look at her. "It's kinda dark", she says clearing her throats as we walk to the dinning room. I'm standing in front of the light switch as Ryan creeps up behind her holding a finger to his lip and I see Chris peeping from beside the fridge nodding, "here let me help with that", I say with a giggle. As soon as I flip the switch Ryan grabs Cole's sides as she lets out a shriek and turns around ready to fight but once her eyes meet Ryan's it's all over. "R-r-r- Ry", is all she can muster out, "your concert was amazing!", Ryan says flashing her his million dollar smile as she looks like she's about to faint, "yea, you're really talented", Chris says as he appears from behind the fridge. "I'll say", a voice says from behind me as they wrap their arms around my waist and it's my turn to jump as I turn around, "babe!", I exclaim as I jump and give Vinny a hug and a quick kiss. "Babe? Ry? Chris? What?", Cole says genuinely confused as I pull apart from Vinny and wrap my arms around his waist as he puts an arm around my shoulder and kisses my temple, "Ryan you wanna explain?", I ask beaming at my flustered best friend. "Well", Ryan begins as he puts an arm around her, if she didn't need the support before she definitely needs it now, "there's a lot that your best friend hasn't explained to you. That small record company she interns for isn't so small it's actually our label aka Road Runner and she's kinda our personal assistant. That little Italian idiot over there on her arm is her boyfriend", Vinny and I both laugh as I kiss him on the cheek as Ryan points to us, "he's my Italian idiot though", I respond. "Anyways", Ryan says rolling his eyes, "Melodie literally told me about you the first day she met us and afterwards we looked up your videos and we've all been dying to meet you, especially me", Ryan says as he gazes upon Cole's eyes and she becomes a giggling smiling laugh. 'We?", I say quietly to Vinny as he nods, "SURPRISE!", I hear again as Ricky, Devin, Kylie, Balz, Ryan Ashley, and Maria fucking Brink appear in my dining room as Cole and I both let out a gasp and she sends me a look as if she's asking me if I knew all this and I slowly shake my head as my eyes go wide. Maria is the first person to step forward, "Happy birthday my dear!", she says as she gives a still stunned Cole a hug, "T-thank you", she stammers out as Maria smiles at her and walks over to me, "and you must be the magnificent Melodie! Chris has told me all about you! It is so nice to finally meet you my dear", she says as she pulls me into a hug. "I-I yea it is so nice to meet you too my goddess", I say as I do a little bow out of respect, "my dear stop you're embarrassing me", Maria says as she blushes. "Listen, I think it's a mighty nice thing you did for your best friend here", Maria says as we look over at Cole who is getting oftly comfy with Ryan as I catch him kiss her forehead as she turns as pink as her hair. "I was able to catch your set thanks to Mr. Motionless here", she begins to explain as she waves Chris over and he swiftly joins her by her side, "I know you just got off of tour dear, but how would you like to join us for our second leg of the Half God Half Devil Tour?" Cole looks as if she just saw a ghost, "w- what? Are you serious?", she exclaims as she throws her hands over her mouth, "I am 100% serious", Maria says waving her hand. "I think you are absolutely fantastic darling and I'd love for you to join our crew! Both of you! Just do what you two did tonight and you'll take the world by storm!", she says looking over at me as my mouth drops as I look up at Vinny who's smiling down at me already. "What? Oh my God!", I say as I jump up in Vinny's arms and kiss him, "we're going on tour together babe!", I scream, "I know!", he replies squeezing me even closer. As we pull apart I see Ryan and Cole pulling apart as well as some sort of courage shoots through Cole and she kisses a very surprised Ryan, she nervously bites her lip as she pulls back as Ryan just pulls her back in for another kiss. "Awwww!", I yell out as they separate and then Ryan holds her close, "Happy Birthday to you!", Ryan Ashley and Kylie begin as they carry out the birthday cake I had made for Cole. "Happy Birthday to you!", me and Vinny join in as we all four walk towards the large sheet cake with sparklers and candles on it, "Happy birthday dear Cole!", I sing as I let go of Vinny and pull my now crying best friend in for a big hug, "Happy birthday to you!", I exaggerate the "u" as I release her and wrap one arm around her waist. "Make a wish!", I say looking towards her, "no need", she says through tears, "I've got everything I've ever wished for right here", and with that she blows out the candles and everyone claps. Things have never felt any better or at least I think they haven't until I steal a glance at Chris and the broken look in his eyes. This tour should be awfully interesting.
