Nights and Crimes

---

I could never tell if I was in love with Lauren or the feeling she gave me.

---

Lauren was the best adventure anyone could have. The kind of adventure that leaves you questioning if you should be doing this, but at the same time, you're too excited to care. The kind of adventure that leaves your palms sweaty, mouth dry, and shivers coursing down your back and along your legs.

You know the feel I'm talking about; when you're doing something so wrong, to the point where everything feels right.

Yet Lauren manages being the same person that has you wondering how a human being could be so gentle and caring. Her smile could heal anything that's broken, almost like looking straight at the sun itself. At times, she's as crazy and as playful as a puppy.

That's exactly what Lauren was: the perfect mix of good and bad.

Lauren always did what she wanted. Whether it was good or not, right or not, legal or not. If that's what she wanted to do, you could bet that's what you'd see her doing.

Lauren always got what she wanted too. She'd find a way to get whatever she wants. She was too persistent and crazy for her own good, so it wasn't a surprise when she'd end up with anything she wanted.

-

Despite this; I was surprised when her head popped up in my window asking if I wanted to, 'go have some fun'.

I heard a small knock, followed by the sliding of my window being pushed open, and finally, an urgent whisper slicing through the silence and darkness of my bedroom.

"Camz!" Lauren called out, trying to get my attention. Because my room was on the second level of the house, I knew there was only one person it could be, but the raspy whisper of the nickname she had for me only confirmed my suspicions.

At first, I considered ignoring Lauren all together and rolling over to go back to sleep, but she must have really wanted to talk to me: because she called again.

And Lauren always gets what she wants.

"Are you awake?" I let out a sigh and pushed myself into a sitting position, rubbing at my eyes.

"Yeah, yeah." I grumbled back annoyedly, but still got up to walk over to the window anyway. When I pulled the curtain across to reveal a pale face and green eyes, she responded by throwing a huge grin my way.

"Hey you." Lauren smirked, a sense of amusement evident in her tone. "Wanna go fuck some shit up?"

My first thought was to ask, 'why me?', or tell her no so that I could go back to bed, but I knew better. She'd find a way to convince me regardless; so I barely had enough time to change into decent clothes before being excitedly tugged out through my window.

I knew Lauren was crazy, but I never expected to be standing in Austin Mahone's living room with her.

She had a red spray can in one hand, the other running through her messy hair; like always. Her left foot was tapping quietly on the ground, the only thing audible alongside her steady breathing and the click click of the spray paint can being shaken back and forth. When I looked up to her face, despite the fact she was facing the wall, I noticed that excitement was the only thing evident in her green eyes. There were no signs of regret or hesitance.

I was, however, personally shitting myself.

I'd never broken any laws (or knew about anything to do with laws at all actually), but I was fairly certain that this had to breaking at least three. I knew that Austin wasn't exactly the kindest human being out there, but did he really deserve whatever this is? Lauren had reassured me that it was okay, but I still wasn't too sure. That was why I turned away to continue staring down at my hands in an attempt to block out the noises when she began writing or drawing whatever it was she did onto the once so perfectly white wall.
