Teenagers

"I hate you!"
"Alissa you get your ass back here!" Thomas yelled to his daughter who was storming up the stairs.
Angelica and Thomas cringed as they heard her slam her door.
"Mommy what's wrong with Alissa?"
Angelica and Thomas turned around to see their 6 year old son Peter and 3 year old daughter Addison looking at them.
"Nothing's wrong with Alissa." Angelica answered. "Now go upstairs to your rooms." Thomas ordered.

The 2 kids walked up the stairs leaving Angelica and Thomas alone in the hallway. The couple went into the kitchen and sat at the kitchen table Thomas holding his head.
"What happened to Alissa I remember when she was sweet and saying she loves me now she's hates me and loves you more." Thomas said to Angelica.
"So you're mad that Alissa has a better relationship with me now?" Angelica asked cocking an eyebrow.
"I'm not mad about that." Thomas said putting a finger on his chin. "I'm more disappointed at Alissa than mad. Angelica we didn't raise her to be rebellious and such. She has such a bad attitude her grades are dropping." Thomas went to the sink and got a glass of water.
He sat down back in his chair taking small sips.

"Is it us Angelica have we been bad parents to her?" Thomas asked and Angelica shook her head.
"I don't think that we're being bad parents Thomas we raised all 3 of our kids and none of them are screwed up yet." Angelica said to Thomas.
"Well then Angelica if we aren't being bad parents then what is going on with her. Is it some sort of girl thing Angelica because if it is you need to tell me what it is right now." Thomas said.
Angelica couldn't help it she found herself laughing.
"It's not funny Ange." Thomas said confused on why his wife was laughing. "I'm serious Angie what's going on. If you don't tell me I'm going to have to ask her what's going on or read her diary or something."
"See Thomas I see why she's acting out." Angelica said. "You give her no privacy."
"She's 14 she doesn't need any privacy." Thomas told Angelica.

Angelica shook her head. She suddenly saw why her daughter had her little meltdown.
"Thomas Alissa is a teenager and teenagers are monsters. If you don't treat them right they're going to declare war on you." Angelica said.
"Why is she taking this out on me?" Thomas asked and Angelica put a hand on her husbands shoulder.
"You're overprotective Thomas." Angelica said. Thomas was shocked.
"I am not overprotective." Thomas said and Angelica nodded.
"Yeah you kind of are. You told Alissa in front of her study date which happened to be a boy no dating until she was 18 and no sex until she was 30 and you kept threatening the poor boy and making him scared." Angelica told Thomas. "Not only did you embarrass her but you scared away her crush." Angelica told Thomas.

"Wait she has a crush she's not allowed to like anybody." Thomas said and Angelica rolled her eyes.
"Thomas listen to me. Alissa is 14 she is allowed to date stop being so damn overprotective of her she's a good fucking kid she knows her rights and wrongs we gave her the talk." Angelica said. "What are you afraid of?" Angelica asked.
"Of her turning out like us." Thomas said and if became silent between the two.
When Angelica was sixteen her and Thomas had unprotected sex and Angelica ended up getting pregnant. It wasn't like Angelica's parents kicked her out or anything they were very supportive and so were Thomas's parents. They were both lucky they had good parents.
It all made sense to Angelica Thomas was afraid their daughter was going to end up just like her.

"Thomas like I said we gave Alissa the talk. She's a good kid she knows her rights and wrongs. She's never going to turn out like us we didn't have the proper values. But Thomas even though we're young I'd say we raised our kids pretty dang well." Angelica said gaining a smile from her husband.
"And Thomas being overprotective of her is just going to make her act more wild when she is out of our care you need to lay off her some." Angelica said and Thomas nodded.
"Now you're going to go upstairs and apologize to our daughter." Angelica told Thomas and he stood up along with Angelica and gave Angelica a kiss.
"I love you Angelica." Thomas said as he walked up the stairs with his wife.
"Love you to Thomas." Angelica said.

I remember when it took me months to write a fucking oneshot. Like I published congratulations in December and then take a break the oneshot after Congratulations was published in April wtf was wrong with me.
