Authors Note

Okay so since this is my first ever Outsiders fanfiction I'm not 100% sure on whether I like it enough to continue, so if you're into it, I don't want to leave you on a somewhat cliffhanger... Therefore, I'm proposing this; if enough people actually enjoy this story and tell me so, I shall continue it pour vous. (That's 'for you' en Français, in case you had some confusion there.)

So in conclusion, if you like it, lemme know and I'll keep Stay Mine rolling. Also, (like always) if you have any criticism or tips or anything like that, don't be afraid to let me in on 'em either.

And without further adieu, here's Chapter five.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pony's POV
I had barely spewed out the sentence when my breathing hitched and I was struck dumbfounded and scared.
"If you'd like of course, this can be your new home."
'If you'd like of course', what was I thinking? She just met us no more than a few hours ago, and now I'm putting her in a position of deciding where she wants to live the rest of her teen life. Very smooth Pony, way to be slick.
I'm never doing what Darry tells me to again, I thought, he probably just wanted to get me embarrassed and flustered in front of-
"You mean it?" Kathlee smiled, revealing her tiny dimples and sparkling eyes, "I can stay here for good?"
I was alright with her soft, antique and fragile voice interrupting my continuous thoughts. Especially with that voice sharing good news.
I grinned at the shy, happy girl but Soda had found his voice first.
"Of course! I always wanted a little sister to be protective over and all... Ponyboy's just not cuttin' it as gal of the house anymore, ain't that right Pony?"
I felt my cheeks get hot as I glanced away from Soda and down to the floor as I heard Kathlee stifle a laugh.
"Yeah Pone, maybe you'll finally have someone to watch sunsets with!" Steve joined in.
Soon enough, the entire gang was sharing with me and Kathlee all the reasons why I was the 'girl', and I wished desperately for the ground to swallow me up whole.
"Okay, okay, enough...." I broke in, "Kathlee, it's up to you, do you want this to be your new home?"
I got kind of stutter-y at the end since I had the nerve to glance back up at the girl, but luckily enough, I saw a slight nod to her head and she smiled.
"I'd love to...thank you, if you're sure and all, I'd like that very much."
And then she made a move that nearly made my heart stop. She slid her legs down to the floor so her socked tip toes were touching the carpet, she stood up, walked over to me, smiled, and held her arms out. Man, she was small. Not height wise...she was about my height; 5"7, but she was small. Not skinny and frail, but strong and thin.
Small. And she wanted a hug.
Without letting my instincts win of wanting to leaning down and press my lips into her soft, candy pink ones, I laced my arms around her built waist and she lowered her arms onto my shoulders.
It was perfect, and I wanted to stay like that forever. Feeling her back rise and fall as she breathed, and inhaling the scent of cigarettes and fresh wind throughout her long, golden hair. It was at that moment that I realized what love meant.
I'm 14, and figuring out what most married adults cease to realize what it means to truly love someone.
Love is the acknowledgement that you've found the person you were destined to be with. No because they're attractive or because you share common interests but because no matter what happens, you'll never want to leave the other persons side.
Love is the realization that the person your holding is breathing, they have a heart beat, they're alive. You love them and you'll do whatever it takes for you both to be happy throughout your lives.
"You're perfect..." I whispered into her hair, so quietly I was surprised she'd heard me.
"Oh yeah...?" She giggled faintly, and I felt her back rise and fall more prominently.
"So are you."
I'm just really sorry for this chapter because...
-I took so long to update
-it's super short
-I realized the perspectives are kinda screwed up
-it's pretty much just a sucky chapter
So I apologize greatly.
Anyways, remember, if you actually like this story and want to see it go places, lemme know, and I shall continue (because really, as long as you guys are happy with this, I am.)
So Stay Gold, and so long for now :3
