Kathlee's POV
The night passed as if hours were minutes and minutes were seconds. Soon enough I was draping back the sheets of my new joint bed and crawling in hurriedly despite the noisy protests of the mattress beneath me.
"Kathlee? Hey Kathlee, you in bed already?" I heard Soda yell from outside the door.
"Yessir..." I began, fading out into a deep yawn, "you and Pony can come in."
I had been given a pair of Ponyboy's old pajamas; a cotton blue and white striped button up, complete with a matching pair of drawstring pants. They felt soft and warm against my pale skin and I shuddered once, sinking deeper into my cozy, new haven.
"Hiya..." Pony smiled, cracking open the door and strolling in with Sodapop following in suit. "You look comfy."
"I am," I smiled, closing my eyes and breathing in the fresh scent of my new home, "happy." I exhaled, looking back to the boys one more. "Comfy and happy."
"Y'know, I'm starting to think that you getting jumped was for the better." Soda cut in, smirking and fiddling with the hem of his plain white tee.
I felt all the blood rush from my head suddenly as I gaped staring up at him. I knew this was all too good to be true, he's crazy and thinks that it was a good thing I almost died... Perfect.
"Soda!" Pony snapped, "what are you talking about man? Are you crazy? She got hurt and scared and you're thinking it was a good thing?"
"Not her getting hurt and all, I'm meaning that we found her. Not some group of mean and tough greasers or Socs, but us. Because now she looks happy, and I don't think she'd be like that if someone else woulda' found her." Soda explained, looking rather appalled by his brothers accusation.
"Um," I began, raising my hand a little like I'd seen some school-kids do when they wanted to speak, "thank you Soda, I agree."
He nodded and flashed his perfect smile in my direction. "Don't mention it."
Pony scoffed at his brothers response and started making his way towards the left side of the bed, leaning down and opening the other side of the sheet. "Hey there." He smiled, his dimples showed and his fairy tale-esque eyes seemed to twinkle ever so subtly. He had the side of his head propped up against his palm and was looking up at me in waiting.
"Hello..." I murmured under my breath, glancing down at the mattress cover in attempt to hide the burning pink that my face must now be showcasing.
"You're adorable when you blush y'know, so there's no use in hiding it." He chuckled to himself.
"I'm not blushing. And even if I was, I can hide it all I want."
"Tough luck princess," he smirked, poking his finger beneath my chin and raising my face up to his. "You're still gonna be adorable no matter how hard you to hide it."
I felt my face go from the colour of soft, pink cotton candy to hot, red cherry pie in an instant.
"I-I...I-" I stuttered out, glancing everywhere that wasn't straight into his beautiful eyes. "I..."
"Know I'm right." He finished for me, laughing, and propping my chin up with his finger before flicking it off and putting both his hands behind his neck.
"Well, uh, sorry if I'm interrupting something..." Soda piped up, awkwardly and suddenly, "but can I turn the light off and get into bed now?"

That was a pretty rough chapter and it was pretty much just a filler to introduce some kind of fluff into this train wreck... There shall be a new update soon to comply for this.
As always, leaving comments is rad and it makes me all smiley to know there are actually people who like this, but there is never any pressure for you to so.
I hope you're all happy and doing things that you love, because everyone deserves both of those. I mean that; but if it just came off as weird...you mustn't be used to me yet.
You're all perfect, Stay Gold.
