"Go ahead and sit with your partner," Mr. Park said, grabbing the box of countries.
Jackson walked towards the back of the room where Mark was. He pulled up a chair right next Mark. He could feel a lump in his throat as Jackson started making small talk.
"You're gay, right?" He asked out of nowhere.
Mark's ears were getting red. He didn't like to talk about that topic. Thankfully Mr. Park interrupted them.
He pulled out a piece of paper from the second box. "Mark and Jackson, your country is Brazil."
Jackson got up from his seat. "Yeaaah man! Brazil man!" He started to high-five the boys and the girls started giggling. All Mark could do was stare in disbelief. How could someone behave this way in school?
"Sit down Jackson..." Mr. Park was clearly done with his shit. Mark could already feel a headache coming on.
"So you know a lot about Brazil?" Jackson asked, getting close to Mark's face.
He moved away a little. "Sure. Just let me handle everything, okay?"
"Alright!" Mark flinched as Jackson slapped him on the back. There's the headache...
The bell rang, releasing them to go home.
Thank God... This was, hands down, the hardest group project Mark has ever had to do. Not because of the country he got, but because of the partner he got.
Jackson kept playing with Mark's hair and stroking his arm. As Mark would move away, Jackson would get closer and try to type something on the laptop they were using.
Mark wasn't someone that let people step all over him, but he just couldn't take control this time. Something came over him, he just didn't know what it was.
"See you tomorrow, Markie-pooh!"
Oh yeah. That was a thing too. 'Markie-pooh' was the name given by Jackson to our poor little Mark.
When everyone had left the room, Mark went to Mr. Park's desk.
"Can I please work on this project alone?" He was desperate to get away from Jackson.
"I'm sorry, Mark. There's nothing I can do about it. Everyone already has their partners. Plus, it's just this one time. You'll survive."
"It doesn't feel that way at all. He's so annoying, Mr. Park!"
"I know he is. You just have to pull through, okay? I gotta get home now, I'll see you tomorrow." Mr. Park picked up his bag and left the classroom. Mark sighed, feeling defeated.
He swung open the front door of the school and something caught his eye. He looked to the right to see Jackson and Hyuna making out. The feeling came back again. He couldn't get rid of it.
Mark reached into his backpack and pulled out his skateboard. He didn't live that far from school, so he didn't take the bus or anything. He plugged in his earbuds and started for home.
The memory of Jackson stroking his arm and playing with his hair came into his head.
Who does he think he is? We've never even talked before and he makes physical contact like that. Weird...
"Hi Mark! How was school?" His mom asked, making dinner in the kitchen.
Terrible. "It was fine. What're you making?"
"Kimchi stew!"
"Ooh~ Yum." Mark kissed his mom on the cheek and went upstairs to his room. He got his math homework out, when his phone buzzed with a text.
Unknown

I asked your friend Yugyeom for it.
Mark sighed. He really needed to have a talk with Yugyeom tomorrow.

later Markie-pooh!Mark set his phone down and went to the kitchen to get some Advil for his major headache.
