So often that
Those simple words

As truths
In her very soul
Until she was startled
Shaken from that dark
Well of doubt
After years of hearing
The ways in which
She wasn't enough
After all those years
She began to try
Began to work
Began to see
That she was
Strong
Brave
Tough
Smart
So that when she
Looked within herself
She began to believe
Those simple words
As truths
