Sam knew Bella would be stewing over Jacobs stories, truthfully she was too but she tired hard not too. After all they were only stories. Vampires and wolves didn't exist, like mermaids and Santa didn't exist.
She sighed, hauling herself off her bed and trudging down stairs to find some food to quell the ache in her stomach.
This was her fifty-third day in Forks, Washington and she was happy. For once in her life she was moderately happy and it seemed like her mother was too.
As she came to the bottom of her stairs she saw her mother packing things into her hand bag, dressed to the nines in a slimming red dress, her hair curled softly around her face. Her mother was truely beautiful and Sam thanked whatever force was out there that she was blessed with her mothers features.

"And where are you off to?" Sam asked, almost causing her mother to jump out of her skin.

"Oh sweetie! I didn't see you there." She caught her breath, and stuffed a bottle of perfume into her bag before swinging it over her shoulder. "I have a date." She blushed.

Sam rose an eyebrow. "A date? With who?"

Her mother hesitated shortly. "With Charlie."

Lilith thought her daughter wouldn't approve of her going on a date with her new best-friends father but was relieved when a large smile broke out on Sam's face.

"That's great!" She beamed, walking over to her mother to embrace her in a tight hug.

"You're not mad?"

"Why would I be? It's about time you get back out there, and... Charlie seems great. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time mum."

Her mother smiled, pulling her into another hug. "I think we can be happy here Sammy."

Sam smiled into her mothers shoulder, thinking about all the friends she's made, about Jasper. "Yeah, me too."

The next day at school the sun is shining, Sam graciously soaks it up as Bella, Angela, Jessica and herself enjoy their lunch outside.

"They're not here." Jessica says, eyes closed as she looked up the sun letting it soak into her skin.

Confused, Samantha looks to Bella who is scanning the yard, probably looking for Edward.
It was then Sam realised that she hadn't seen any of the Cullens today.

"When ever the weathers nice the Cullens disappear." Jess continued.

"What they just ditch?" Sam asked.
