I quickly jumped out of our car after giving my mom a quick goodbye. I looked at the school around me, my eyes searching for one face in particular. I hurriedly turned around as I felt a small hand touch my shoulder.

"Ash!!" I screeched as I saw that the hand on my shoulder belonged to none other than the person whom I had been looking for. My best friend Ashely Green.

"Charlie!" Ashely screamed back at me while simultaneously throwing her thin, pale arms around me.

"I feel like we haven't seen each other for weeks!" Ashley screamed into my ear.

I winced as I felt my eardrum practically explode because of how loud she had yelled into it.

"Calm down Ash" I responded with a slight laugh. "We just saw each other a couple of days ago." I reminded her.

"Yeah, but it feels like it's been weeks," she answered back.

I held back another laugh at her words and instead pulled her towards our school. We started talking about what had happened in the short amount of time that we hadn't seen each other on our way towards the office to get our class schedule for the year.

After getting our schedules I groaned as I saw that I would be having math first thing every morning for the next school year.

Ashley and I gave each other a goodbye and promised each other that we would meet up at my locker as soon as we had our first break of the day.

I started walking toward my math room, which was at the other end of the school, when I felt a large hand cover my eyes. I quickly pulled the hand off my face and turned to see who had grabbed me.

I felt a big smile overtake my face as I saw my friend Andrew standing in front of me.

"Andy!" I said at the same time that Andrew said "Charlie!" with an equally large smile on his handsome face.

Andrew and I had been friends ever since the third grade when I had defended him from the school bully, Michael, was trying to take away Andrews PB & J sandwich during recess. We have been inseparable ever since that day.

We gave each other a quick hug and started walking down the hall together. We quickly discovered that we both had math together, as well as 4th period English, so at least those classes will be somewhat bearable now.

We walked into our new math room and my eyes were automatically drawn to a certain gorgeous brown haired, blue-eyed boy sitting in the back row laughing with a few friends.

"Aww hell," I quietly whispered as I realized I would have to share a classroom for several months with the boy who had shattered my heart not to long ago. Logan Conners.
