Chapter 7

Spade ran from her father and out of the room, back towards the door.
"Spade!" She heard and turned to see Harry racing to catch up to her. She slowed down and waited for him to come up to her. Spade punched Harry in the arm, immediately recoiling in pain as she held her now throbbing hand. Harry hadn't noticed. "Ouch! What was that for?" He asked.
"You...knew!" Spade gritted out. She'd broken parts of her hand before which led her to believe that it wasn't broken this time, just badly hurt. Harry had looked up when he heard how she was talking and his expression turned from annoyed to worried faster then Uma could say "what's my name?"
"Come 'ere" he said pulling her closer to examine her hand. She pushed him away and yelped at the pain it caused her.
"you knew, and you didn't tell me!" Spade said and began running once again, away from Harry and toward the hedge maze, which she knew he'd get lost in without her help and she'd be at Mal's hideout begging to be sent back to Auradon, before he'd be out. Yeah...that sounded like a good enough plan, until a strong arm stopped her. Tears were running down her face as she looked up at Harry, with betrayal in her eyes. His hard expression softened when she looked at him like that.
"Spade, I'm so sorry. Uma and I agreed that we should let your father explain to you what happened to your mother. We thought it would be best." Spade let her instincts cloud her better judgment and hid her face in Harry's chest as he played with her hair trying to get her to stop crying. When her quiet sobs reduced to sniffles she pulled away from him.
"What am I gonna do now? It's not like I can go back to my dad, or Auradon." She said sadly. Harry looked down at her.
"Well love, that just means your gonna have to keep staying with me." He said with a smirk. Spade laughed. He was so happy to hear her laugh again that a wide genuine smile graced his face. "C'mon we should get out of here." He said and she walked him through the maze once again.
