Chapter 8

Spade stood on the deck of Harry's ship that night, thinking. She remembered something her mom had once told her and drifted into the memory, welcoming the thought of her lost family member.

"Spade dear...You will get your heart. It's your birthright. You just aren't evil enough yet." The Queen of Hearts told her daughter as she stared into the mirror of her vanity. She quickly became angry at her mother. "It's been 12 years! If it was ever going to come it would have by now! I'm just not evil enough and I never will be! Why can't you just accept that and love me for who I am?" Spade cried out, the last question in exasperation. She felt a cold slap across her face and closed her eyes. When she reopened them her head was to the side and her mother was red. Literally. "You are a villain! You will never know love! And, no daughter of mine will be so dishonored as to not have her heart!" The Queen waltzed out of the room in disgust. Spade turned towards her mirror and angrily shoved her clenched fist into its shiny surface, cracking it into a million tiny pieces and causing her fist to turn a brilliant shade of scarlet. Her mother's favorite color, which she knew all too well why...

Spade looked down at the heart shaped scar on her wrist. It was from the mirror. She thought it was ironic.
That had been the closest thing to advice Spade's mother had ever given her, and, due to her unlikely demise, Spade took it upon herself to make it her last promise to the women she had only ever wanted to please. She would be the evilest villain the Isle had ever seen. She would topple Uma from her throne and destroy everyone's happiness.
Just like they destroyed hers.

A/n I know this is short but I have some new inspiration for this book and I am very excited about it. I would really like to thank AestheticXAshley for giving me inspiration to return to this book. Although I may or may not use their idea it still helped me want to continue so for that I am greatly thankful and I bet so are my lovely readers who have been waiting for this for a while. I promise the new chapters will be up very soon.
