C E L E S T I N E

I had to move in here in the Philippines. I have no choice, my aunt sent me here she said I need to continue my studies here and explore the human community before I turn 18 it is one of my quest to be a S-Class Caster. Its an advantage to stay here since my parents lived here before. Mom and dad were half filipino and half british. I didn't know casters were also here in this country. I knew a little bit filipino that's why I understand most of the people here.

My phone rang. It was aunt Caroline.

"Yes aunt?" I answered lazily. I was tired. I had a jetlag.

"How is it there? I told you its nice there right? I'll send you the address where you can mingle some casters. But you'll be entering the school with normal people so better to keep your magic and act like one of them."

Ugh. Aunt Caroline is very exacting. I mean she's very specific.

"Oh yes aunt."

"You sound so tired. I made some potions for you. Its in your bag. Drink it to keep away from being tired." She nagged.

I just nodded and ended the phone call. I looked around my room. Oh this is quite cozy but a little bit smaller than my room in England. I arranged my things and put my clothes on the wardrobe and after that I dropped myself on the bed.

Before I forgot, I casted some spells in my room to protect it. Yes, I'm a caster.
We're known to cast spells and mortal enemies of vampires. Vampires are afraid of us since we casters can deminish vampires by the use of our spells. But I haven't encountered one of them.

I opened my email. Forester Elite Academy. Okay, so this is where I am going to study. I close my eyes. Mingling with normal people, staying far away from other casters, and possibly I could meet some vampires. This is ridiculous I can't believe this is happening to me.

I miss our place. I miss the people there. But aunt said I need to do this because I really have to and she said mom and dad will be proud of me.

I received a message from Alice, my bestfriend in our place.

From: Alice
"Cel, be careful there okay? I miss you. We have traced some vampires in the Philippines yesterday so better be careful."

I smiled. I missed her too. Wait, there were vampires here? Vampires. My heart beat starts to rush, why am I feeling this? I felt nervous. What if they would discover my existence here? What is going to happen to me?

I started researching about the Vampires but there were no records at all. Malinis na malinis ang pagtatago ng existence nila just like us casters. No one ever believed and discovered our existence but they believed on the white and black witch existence. We casters and white witch are just the same, we just prefer to be called Casters. 

Lumabas ako and I familiarized the place, the busy street, and everything. Philippines wasn't quite nice for me aside from traffic its very polluted why does it have to be here?

Out of nowhere, the existence of vampires bothers me again. I wonder how they look like. But aunt Caroline told me that the stories about Vampires weren't true like they can't go out and face the sunlight, its much like that. She said, daytime or night time you can really encounter vampire.

Caster are detectable to vampires because they can't smell our blood. Our bloods were bound by spell to be protected.

Dumaan ako sa isang convenience store and bumili ng coffee. Madilim na pala, malayo pa lalakarin ko. From here to our subdivision so I decided to go home na.

Nasa kalagitnaan na ako ng subdivision ng may biglang humila sakin at tinakpan ang aking bibig.
Should I use my spell? Or not?

"Let me go!" I screamed pero hindi ko masyadong nasabi ito dahil nakatakip ang aking bibig.

"I got ya' Caster. Oh, you looked surprise." He said with a devilish laugh and it shivers my whole body.

Somebody help me.

I can't clearly see his face because it was dark but I can see his dark, scary, red eyes.

"Another dinner of a caster,"

He opened his mouth and he was about to bite my neck but I was quick. I used to cast a spell that creates fire and touches my hand to his face and I immediately run.

"Shit, come back to me you little caster."

I cant think what to do. Lahat ng trainings na ginawa ko incase makaencounter ng vampire ay nawala lahat. Nakalimutan kong pano lumaban. I just ran and ran, hindi ko na alam kung nasan ako pero bigla akong natumba. What was that?

I looked up. It was a guy. Siya kaya yung vampire? His eyes were also red but unlike the other one those eyes were tamed but dangerous.

"I-I'm so sorry. Please, not now."
I crawled backward and he was just staring at me. Emotionless.

"Hello, little Caster I found you." Lumingon ako sa lalakeng nagsalita. I think I'm dead now. Really dead. Nasa gitna ako ng dalawang vampire.

"She's mine Daniel, don't let a caster live. Not like before."

"She wasn't your property after all. But, what I want is what I get." Biglang lumapit yung isang vampire with the tamed eyes papunta dun sa isang vampire in an instant and twisted his neck so hard causing it to die.

He then looked at me.

"Please, spare me your mercy." I cried while crawling backward because he was walking towards me.

He knelt down and he looked at me.

"Are you okay?" He asked then he held his hand.

I was shocked for awhile. Celest get back to your senses please. I can't talk, I'm trembling. I tried to cast a spell to make me calm.

He helped me stood up. "I can hear your heartbeat, calm down your safe now." His voice was deep, calm, you can really sense the safety in it.

"Let me take you to your house, its not safe here Caster. You know vampires are everywhere, wild and searching for the casters blood."

"T-thank you for saving me. I t-thought I'd be dead right now. But I can go home alone." I smiled and started walking palayo sakanya.

"Wait," lumapit siya sakin, "You owe me one but you won't remember everything," he leaned closer to me and everything went silent as his cold lips presses mine. He kissed me, and I just froze there like a statue.

That night a vampire kissed me.
