I've heard how you are with her
I don't have the eyes to witness but i have a soul that can
Her lips might quiver at your hello
And shiver at your touch
When you reach out to grasp her hand
Next time she falls in love
Okay, well, the next time she gets infatuated
If ever that person is you, or me, or anyone
Do consider this:
Will you keep her up in bed?
Will you tell her you love her, late at night,
And actually mean it?
Will you make her love herself for loving you?
Respect her, never abandon her
Tell each other everything
And say things you wouldn't regret?
I honestly will feel confident, if now is the time
If the world is finally letting herself love and be loved for the first time
She'll finally have someone
Who's there to fill up the spaces in her sentences
When she runs out of rhymes
I know this is selfish of me to ask
But can you live the life I had failed to live?
She is much, much more than what I had said
What I had told, what I had done and would've and could've done
I could've given her the world, but I had none to give
All those conversations we've shared, time we've spent
The secrets only us and the moon and the rising sun know
My time is up for those now
I'm passing the crown to you
But before I let you go
Now that she's "gone for greener pastures", i call it
And please don't make a big deal out of this tomorrow
I just have one thing to ask of you
And I ask you this:
Love her like you'd never hurt her; and she deserves to know
