Abby's P.O.V
I woke up to some people talking. I opened my eyes just a bit to see Zach and Dean talking. "I really like her." Dean whispered. "I don't want her to think I'm just a regular guy. I want this to work. I want to be something more with her." He added. I saw Zach nod. "She really likes you too." Dean smiled at that."I really want to be more but I'm afraid to ask her. I don't want to get hurt again." Dean sighed. "Abby would never cheat on you, if you were worried about that. Her last boyfriend cheated on her like Jessie cheated on you. She was a wreck for a month, she wouldn't talk to us, practices she was falling all over, and she refused to go out in games." Zach whispered.
I remember that. I was so upset I didn't know what to do. He's history though, but every once in a while I always wonder what I didn't do to make it enough for him. Oh well.
"Morning." Someone said. I peaked over and saw Derek and a couple of the other guys getting up. I started moving around so it would seem like I just woke up. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "Morning." I replied to whoever that was. The guys laughed and I looked in my reflection of my phone and saw that my hair was a mess.
I flipped my head and put it up in a messy bun. "What time is it?" I asked. "About 8:30." Connor responded. "I'm gonna go get changed. We have to go for our run." I said while getting up.
I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. When I unlocked the door I ran into someone. "Oh sorry." I said before I looked up and saw Dean. "Follow me here Youngblood?" I snickered. "Of course." He replied while laughing a bit. "Be ready by 5:00 tomorrow night. Wear something comfortable but pack extra clothes." He said while pecking my lips and going into the bathroom.
Sounds exciting. I wonder where he's taking me I thought. I walked into my room and put on a pair of black athletic shorts, a black sports bra and a plain dark gray sweatshirt. I slipped on a pair of gray and black nikes with black elite socks. I brushed out my hair and put it up in a high messy ponytail. No make-up today since we're working out. (Picture at the top)
"Abs you ready?" Luke knocked on the door. "Yeah." I said grabbing my headphones and phone while walking out the door. "Brent we're leaving." I called up to him. "Okay." He yelled back. We walked out the door and started jogging. I turned around and had to do a double take. Holy shit Dean's abs. He caught me staring and winked and that made me blush even more.
We continued to run and we we're almost done, at least half way back. Then I felt something land on my forehead. At first I thought it was sweat but then it kept coming down. Next thing I knew there was a big crack and a loud boom. It was a thunder storm. We all started sprinting back towards the house.
The sky turned dark and the thunder was getting even louder. I am petrified of thunder and lightning. Almost as much as I am afraid of the dark. I got to the house first and opened the door.
The guys piled in behind me and slammed the door as soon as the last one was in. I was shivering. "Go get changed guys and put your wet clothes in the bathroom down here. I'll put them in the laundry." Brent said while walking down. "At least we finished the run." Huey said while laughing.
I got in my room and peeled of my wet clothes and put on a pair of leggings and a big sweatshirt. My hair wasn't that wet since I had a hood so I left it in the ponytail. I put on a pair of low socks and walked out with my wet clothes. The door was open so I just threw them in the already started pile.
I go upstairs and get a bagel. I put it in the toaster and got out the butter and peanut butter. It's so good, I could eat this for the rest of my life. Loud footsteps we're coming up the steps and I turned my head and saw both teams running up the steps.
They filled the couches up while I made my breakfast. I pulled my bagel out of the toaster and put the stuff on it. The table was empty so I sat there eating while I was on my phone. It was still thundering and lightning so I kept jumping at all the loud bangs.
The lights started flickering and my eyes went wide. Soon enough all of the lights went out. "The show was just getting good." One of the guys said. I turned my flashlight on and so did everybody else. "I'm gonna go see if Brent and Murray are okay. Let's all go to the game room and hang out there for a bit until the storm dies down." Okay's went around the room as everybody got up.
I got up and put my plate in the sink and I almost had a heart attack when I turned around. Dean was standing there smirking at me. "Did you think I was going to leave you up here alone?" He asked. "I would have left me up here. I hate the dark and storms." I confessed. He slid his arms around my waist and pulled me in for a hug. "Don't be scared. I'm right here beautiful." He whispered while kissing my forehead. I put my arms around his neck and we stayed like that for a couple of minutes until there was a loud bang and I jumped.
"Let's go down stairs so you don't have to look out the window and see what's out there." He said while grabbing my hand and leading me down the steps. We got into the game room and it was lit with candles and everybody was in there already.
I sat down on a bean bag chair with Dean right next to me on another. My phone dinged and it was Zach asking me what happened upstairs. I texted back, "Nothing 😉" and he said ugh.
Dean started poking my shoulder and whispering my name. "Yes?" I asked. "Well you see, I still never got your number or your snapchat." He smirked. I grabbed his phone and put my number in and then went to his snapchat and added myself.
I still had his phone so I went to the snapchat camera and turned it around. I put my hand on his face and squeezed his cheeks and took a picture and captioned it "he's actually a big softy" and posted it to his story.
He took his phone back and started laughing. "You're lucky I like you or else I'd be taking it off." He said while laughing. "I know." I replied.
I looked down at my phone and noticed that the power has been off for a good hour and half close to two hours. The dark made me tired and the rain was the cherry on top to make me fall asleep.
I closed my eyes and took a little nap. When I woke up the candles were still lit and it was still raining. "Good morning gorgeous." Dean said to me. "What time is it?" I asked freaking out. He said morning. Did I sleep for that long?
"It's 6:00. You had a good 6 hour nap." He responded. I looked around the room and noticed everybody was gone. "Where is everyone?" I asked curiously.
"They are upstairs ordering dinner." He replied. "Why ordering?" I asked again. "Nothing is working in the kitchen right now because the power is out." He said is a duh tone. I mentally face palmed myself. He probably thinks I'm so stupid. I just cannot function right now.
"Oh." I responded. I put my head on his shoulder and yawned. "Let's go upstairs with everybody so we don't miss whatever they are getting." I said after I yawned. "Okay." Dean agreed. He got up and reached out for my hands.
"Can you carry me?" I asked quietly. "Yes." He said laughing. He bent down and turned around. I hopped onto his back and he started walking towards the kitchen with me.
We got upstairs as soon as the food got here. They ordered pizza. Yay! We never have pizza. I had two slices because I can and the guys finished the other 5 boxes. They are such a mess.
I helped clean up and once we were done, we all settled onto the couches in the living room and talked for what seemed like forever. It felt really good to just be able to hang around people who didn't care if you were "girly" enough or ate too much. They liked me for me and I couldn't ask for better friends.
