I woke up on a cot, covered in cloth sheets. I saw Jennifer and Zantack talking across the room. I sat there in shock of the events last night. The tears wouldn't come. I sat up and Jennifer and Zantack looked my way. Once they saw I was awake Zantack left and Jennifer walked in my direction. "How are you feeling?" She asked timidly. "Considering the circumstances, not good. I'm still shocked." I say as I stand up. "I don't blame you. I thought you might want to know, but your father's burial is at midday." She tells me. "Thank you, where will it be held?" I ask. "It will be held at the graveyard in the West side of the village." She says. I walk to the door, say thank you, and leave.
I slowly make my way to the area I always go to. It was a overcast day which didn't help my mood any. I sit on the rock and look towards the sky. "Why dad, why did you have to leave me too." I say quietly while tears fall from my eyes. I cry until my eyes run dry. The clouds part just enough for me to see that its almost time. I get up walk in the direction of the graveyard.
By the time I arrive I see a mix of faces I recognise and faces I don't. Everyone carried the same grim face. I wait for everyone to say their final words and once they're done I say mine. "I will miss you, I hope you're in a better place now. I wish I could remember who caused this. I swear on my life that they will pay." I say. I turn away and walk to the back the crowd, but to where I can still see. I see two people lower a coffin into the ground and after that I leave.
Raindrops fall as I walk towards the ocean. I stand there at stare at it. I was angry with myself that I couldn't do anything to stop his death. I can't even remember who caused it. I knew it had to be some sort of spell that made me forget who caused it.
I saw the waves come crashing on the shore. I realize that I lost track of time when the sky starts to darken. Water drips from my hair as I walk away leaving the ocean behind me. Once I reach my house I slowly open my door and walk upstairs. I look towards my father's bedroom door. I still can't believe I'll never see him again. I go into my room and quickly get into bed to try to fall asleep.
