~Seven years later~

"Bye mom we have to leave already it's going to be a long drive" I said hugging my mom really tight not wanting to let go.
"Oh honey I'm not ready to let you go, college was enough time." My mom said in the most heartbreaking voice holding my cheeks now.
"Mom I'm sorry but it's time me and Lidia head on our own and I didn't study hard just to let that therapy job go." I said hoping to calm her down.
"But you're going across the country, isn't Washington enough for you? Do you really need to go to North Carolina?" My mom's cracking voice almost makes me want to stay but I know I have to go.
"Bye grandma we'll be back I promise!" Lidia said happily. I put the last box in the trunk of my car and got in the drivers seat.
"Bye call me when you get there." My mom said leaning against the door of her house.
"Bye and I will love you so much mom!" I said starting to drive of into my independent life.

The long drive was very calming and exhausting but I somewhat enjoyed it by all the sceneries I saw.  We finally arrived to Beaufort, North Carolina and it was really beautiful.  It wasn't a big city it was a small town actually but it was peaceful mostly with the shore close by.  I pulled in to my new house  and I couldn't help to be a little nervous but mostly excited.  I love my new house because it's not that modern but not that old, just right.
Unlocking the door I walk in and it was just so beautiful, the stairs were in a perfect place everything was just like I had imagined it.
"I'm gonna go choose my room mom!" Lidia said running up the stairs.
"Careful Ida you don't want to trip!" I yelled at her hoping she would hear me but she was already gone.  Lidia made her nickname when she was learning to talk so she couldn't say her name right and started saying Ida so that's how it stayed.
I started unpacking because I already wanted to set in and so I can have some relaxing time before I start working, which is in 1 month. I know it seem so far away but I wanted my house to be ready that way boxes won't be laying around and me not having time to unpack them.

A week passed and I was officially done unpacking, my room was set, Lidia's room too, and so was the rest of the house.  We decided to go to a park that was close by.  Once we got there Lidia started running around.
The park was beautiful it had a lake and across it to the side I was on, there was a bench.  I really wanted to sit on that bench so I could have the view of the lake but a man was sitting there looking sad and I didn't want to bother.  Lidia came back to me asking for money to buy an Ice Cream. She saw the man and looked confused,
"Mommy, why is that man sad."
"I don't know honey... here bring back the change." I gave her the money and saw her run to the ice cream cart that was about 7 feet away.  I saw that she bought two ice creams, I really didn't want ice cream but I was still gonna accept it.  She started walking toward me happily then suddenly make a turn.  I got confused and saw she made her way toward the man on the bench.
"Hi mister! Why are you sad?" Lidia asked concerned.
"Don't worry about it." The man said staring to the grass. I was about to go get her when she hands him the ice cream, "here, no one deserves to be sad. Mommy said ice cream is the key to happiness!"
He grabs the ice cream and smiles at her then takes a taste of the ice cream.
"Thank you. Your mom must be smart... it is the key to happiness" he says breaking a smile.
"I'm Lidia what's your name?" She asks.
"Um it's Jason, you have a really beautiful name." Jason said kindly. Lidia started blushing, it was really cute. I went by her side and asked,
"Are you ready to go honey?"
"Yes mommy... mommy this is Jason!" Lidia said enthusiastically.
"Hi nice to meet you, I'm Anna." I said shaking his hand.
"You raised you daughter really well, she will go places in the future." He said not looking so sad anymore.
"Thank you I try my best." I say while looking at her. I couldn't help but think that he was very good looking. Anna control yourself.
"Anyway we need to get going, bye. Come on Ida." I said holding Lidia's hand.
"Wait!" Jason said as we started walking away. Me and Lidia turned around to look at him.
"Let me make it up to you for the ice cream that's the least I can do since your daughter bought a smile to my lips."
I got somewhat exited but contained myself, "sure, um here let me right you down my number and you can tell me the details."
I pulled out a paper and pen. I wrote my number and gave it to him. "Here you go."
"Thank you, I'll call you later." He said and we started walking away. Lidia turned her head to him,
"Bye Jason, don't be sad anymore eat more ice cream!"
"I will bye Lidia!" He said waving back.
