Daisy Clark P.O.V.
I can handle this myself, I'm sure.
I open the gate a bit, slipping outside and walking up to him. Joshua gets off the horse, waiting for me to approach him.
"I knew I'd find you here." He lets out a sigh, bringing me into an obligated hug.
I didn't really break up with him when I left, we had gotten into a fight that day too.
"You need to go, its not safe for you here." I tell them.
"But you're safe." Because the Otto family took a liking in me, unlike you who left me to go to an experimental camp.
"Joshua, stay away." I warn him, he steps closer to me, grabbing harshly to my wrist.
"You're hurting me." I mumble, trying to pull away but it doesn't works.
"JOSHUA, STOP!" I scream, I hear footsteps behind me but I don't really care at this moment.
"Do you even love me, huh?" He wonders.
"Of course I did, but that was before all this happened." If I'm honest and he sees it, he'll let go off me.
"Let go of her." A familiar voice says.
I turn around to see Troy stepping beside me.
"And you are?" Joshua asks.
"That's none of your business." I snap.
"Honey, it is." Troy grabs onto him and Joshua finally lets go off me, leaving me with a sore wrist.
"If you have anymore comments, you'll have to get past me." Troy furiously steps in front of me.
"Troy, calm down." I whisper, I see him relax just a little bit.
"Daisy, go inside." I follow his rules, too scared that Troy will do something stupid in front of me.
The guards let me pass, and I walk into my empty cabin. When I'm able to close the door, Troy steps in.
"You're ex?" He wonders.
"Yeah, I thought he wouldn't come after me- after all he left me to rote in hell."
"He's gone, we're safe." He assures me.
"I could've handle it perfectly." I say, sitting down on the small table.
"Yes, because he wasn't hurting you." He says sarcastically, making me stiff a laugh.
"I didn't know you could be sarcastic." I tell him, he smiles as he steps towards me.
"I didn't know you could dishonor your family and be with me." He mumbles, he stops once he gets between my legs.
"I would never do something like that, until you came along."
"And Golden Boy?"
"Golden boy was just someone to please my family with." I admit, mom is leaving tomorrow for an expedition with Troy.
Joshua and me started dating when I became a freshman in high school and now I'm eighteen. I stopped loving him at the end of sophomore year.
"Promise me something... You won't die tomorrow." I add, I ignore the hair failing into my face.
"Promise." He takes a piece of my hair, putting it behind my ear.
He's too close, way too close.
I stand up, making us way closer. If someone was to walk in right about now, I would get my ass kicked.
"Thank you for your help with Joshua." I whisper, looking down at his lips.
What is he doing to me? I'm sure its not love, but this isn't a thing that friends will do.
Nope, nope. I don't like him, I can't.
Troy brings his hand up to my cheek, caressing it.
I look up to make eye contact with him, please kiss me.
He walks closer, pressing his lips to mine softly, as if I was capable of breaking any second. It doesn't last long, but its still good enough for me.
"I could get used to this." I mumble against his lips, my eyes still close.
"Mmh." I fully pull away, and we both open our eyes with big smiles.
"If your family finds out-" Troy starts but I cut him off.
"Will you be my boyfriend?" I blurt out, he just freezes.
"Lets not put a name to it yet." He replies before he leaves my cabin.
Oh, what this boy is doing to me.
I shake the thoughts out of my head as I walk to the mess hall, just found out that's what you call the cafeteria here.
"Daisy!" I turn around to see Jake running up to me with a book in his hands.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Alicia said you like reading..." He says as he hands me a book.
The Cabin by Natasha Preston
"This is kind of you." I say, reading the back which contains all the information.
"I know." He whispers into my ear, I just look up at him confuse.
"You know what?" I wonder.
"You like Troy... He likes you back." Oh no, this is way too soon to anyone finding out.
"I do not like him." I'm not even sure if I do or not.
"Admit it." I walk away and he follows me.
I turn around, looking at him weirdly.
"If you tell anyone, it'll be over for him and me." I warn him.
"I wouldn't, you're changing him. He's becoming better." Jake says.
"Okay, can you stop following me now? I really want to read this book in peace." I tell him, he finally understands. I sit below a tree, far away from everyone to clearly see him.
How did Jake found out? God, it won't take long until everyone else does too.
