Mitch thinks that Avery hates him. He thinks this is a good reason to die, along with the fact that Avi and Kirstie might too.
Avery regrets saying that she hates Mitch, and she knows that Mitch may die thinking she hates him. She believes that this is a good reason to die, also along with the fact that Avi might.
But no one knows if they will die.
