@hudaasalim thank you for being patient.

They say trust is the most important thing in a marriage and that when you start to doubt your partner, the marriage is probably at its braking point.

I didn't have pretty awesome marriages around me . All the way from my parents to my cousin Iqra. Being an only child didn't help how I felt about the long term commitments.

I was sure I would never seal my fate with any soul. I still don't understand how me and Adam happened. I don't want to sound cliché but it felt like I couldn't help but be attached to him. I was rushing a client who collapsed in the office that day.

As I ran in with the 49 year old lady to the casualty side of the Emergency Room , I was received by an angel i suppose.

Dumb of me right? It wasn't  the the time to think of such things.  But trust me once you meet him yourself, you'd think the same.

Adam, came with a wheelchair hardly making any eye contact with me. "What happened?"he asked as he pushed the lady into one of the rooms.
"I'm..I'm not sure, one minute we were discussing her Will and the next she just collapsed,"I said recalling how it happend.

"Where is her purse?"he asked quite rudely. I stared at him. It was only then that I appreciated his big beautiful brown eyes.

'You have to snap out of it! He probably has millions of girls drooling over him, so if you have some dignity left kindly  please stop! ' I said to myself

Everything after that was a blur, I only remember filling forms and waiting for Mrs. Levi to be released.
I took her home and made sure her daughter was well informed.

The hospital called me to pick up her prescription  and I rushed there only to see Mr  Brown eyes staring at me.

Oh my! What should I do? Act  normal.

I could feel my pulse rising. What was happening to me?
He slowly walked up to me. He had a poker face that I couldn't read.

"Kindly take good care of your mother!"he said with a stern voice. "She could have lost her life because of your  carelessness."

WHAT! Was this dude being serious? My mouth dropped and probably dug itself to the underworld.

Adam walks into the kitchen from the balcony. From the look in his face it seems like he hadnt received the  best news.
I give him time and I just pretend not to notice as I scroll through my phone.

"Ria,  I'm gonna have to leave town for a few days,"he says with a soft tone anticipating my usual reaction.

I immediately turn to look at him. "Why I ask?" I couldn't believe how calm I was acting when in fact as soon as those words left his mouth, there was a sudden fire burning inside of me.

He rubs the back of his neck with his hand.

He is nervous!

"Aunt Fadhila called and said that my sister Amira had been kicked out of her boarding school and I have to pick her up..... I...I also  probably have to speak to the school."

LAIR!

Yes, Amira was Adams little sister and he loved her a lot. But from the little Intel I have on her from Yasmeen, (I don't know how she found out) , is a sweet angel. She studies hard and is applied for medical school.
So it's quite hard to believe him.

"Okay sure," I say and fake a small smile. "Stay safe and call me when you get there."

He stared at me like I was a ghost. Well, I'll tell you why he was surprised. If this would have happened on a normal day , I would I have thrown a tantrum.

Today was our anniversary, I had plans but it's all ruined. Typical Maria would have complained and though finally throw in the towel.

"Are you sure you're OK?"he asked. He stepped closer to me and held my hand and squeezed it.

"Yes, Adam am sure. She's your only family. You have to go. I understand."I assure him.

He grins and gives me a peck on my left cheek. Adam then goes to our room  and starts packing.

My phone immediately rings.
