JUSTIN'S P.O.V
It has scarcely been two weeks since the agreement between Merit and I was made to be friends.
I successfully got an 'A' on my Math test, all thanks to Merit. She still tutors me on other subjects, but to be honest, I use most of our tutoring sessions as an excuse to spend more time with her.
Don't get me wrong. Of course I'm attentive and I listen to everything that's being said, but Merit is just utterly beautiful.
It ain't my fault.
Our friendship gradually strengthens everyday, which I have completely no problem with. Hopefully, one day, it will be something more.
One can only hope.
As for school, Chelsea seems to have backed off and she's stopped bullying Merit so that's good.
It was now a Friday, which means only one thing...PARTY TIME!
I was currently walking to the library, rather slowly, might I add, trying to come up with the best technique that I can use in order to persuade Merit so that she can come to the party tonight.
All of my ideas were just plain shitty.
Hey, Mer! So there's a party tonight and I was wondering if you would want to come with me?
Really, Justin?
Uh, hi. There's this really cool party being thrown tonight so...come with me?
Now I just sound even stupider...
Hey girl!
Now I sound gay...
Hello there, Merit.
Now I sound too formal.
You know what? Suck it, I'm just gonna wing it.
I had come to that rather non useful conclusion when I was just a few steps away from the table at the very back of the library that was now occupied by the one, the only, Merit Foster.
I plopped down on the seat right beside her, her head immediately snapping up, her face showing signs of shock and surprise.
"How many times are you going to do that, Justin?!" I was clearly amused. "What are you talking about, Merit?"
"Just- stop scaring me like that, OK?" she retorted, glaring at me. "How did I scare you? I just took a seat." I stated, smiling at her innocently.
"Whatever... Moron." she said under her breath. Now it was my turn to do the glaring. She chuckled at my not-so-hateful, but not-so-loving facial expression before throwing her arms around my neck.
"Oh, you know I love you." she said, making me smile.
Oh, how I wish that she meant it the other way.
"And I love you too, but do you know what you can do to prove just how much you love me?"
She let out an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes before saying, "Dear Lord. What now, Justin?"
She knows me so well...
"Soooo...there's this party tonight a-" she cut me off. "If you're even thinking about taking me to that party, you're a psycho 'cause I ain't going." she said in a sassy tone.
Oh the joy!
"Oh, come on, Merit!"
"No."
"Ugh. Please?!"
"Nuh-uh."
"Do it for you!"
"Nope."
