The 34th hunger games

chapter 13

I see may taking out the boy from one and get a little light-headed. May glances around for a moment, then goes back to poor district 1. Hugo is getting weapons, along with special supplies while I stand guard, with the boy from seven.

"Hey Hugo, what's taking so long?" I ask Hugo while hearing sounds of all sorts from the cornucopia. "well, do you wanna live, and maybe survive this thing? if so, you should probably shut up." he replies with a grin. "whatever, just hurry up." I say, my voice trembling a little by the fact that I'm finally home, just in a different way...

"you alright?" the boy from 7 asks me. "I'm fine." I reply, sternly.

May comes back over here and asks a question. I'm not paying attention, so I don't know. but I see a flicker of a shadow behind may. "hold that thought." I say and step forward. "Hello?" I say rather loud. "Hello?" I say again after a while. the shadow moves again. then I recognize that shadow as the little girl from 11. I run after her. she is only 12 and I don't think she should be here. she hides a little, but I find her. I pull out a knife. "hold still." I say and she closes her eyes. I stab the tree she hides behind. "eww, a spider. their all over." I said cleaning off my knife. she opens one eye slowly. "your, not-umm... not going to kill me?" she stammers out her little mouth. "why on earth would I kill someone that should not be in the place of nightmares?" I ask her sadistically. she shrugs her shoulders. "don't worry,you will live for as long as i can protect you." I say while smiling. "why?" she looks up at me with wide brown eyes that bore into mine with kindness. "well I already explained, you shouldn't be here." I smile and beacon her to follow me. she walks beside me. "what the hell?" May says. "why is she here?" may seems very rude, but she did not when we met in the training center. "she is useful. she can heal with the plants and can help with catching fish. calm down may, she's with us." I say smoothly. "fine. but she better  be useful." she stalks off while I roll my eyes. "where are the careers?" the girl from 11 asks. "we worked out a plan. their gone thanks to Hazel and may, really."Hugo replies. "by the way, I'm Hugo. you know hazel, I guess,and the girl from district 7 is may. the boy from 7 is Alex. you?" she looks a little shy and quietly speaks,"I'm crystal" Crystal says carefully. "I'm from district 11."

"okay, well we better leave before anyone causes trouble. Hazel?" Hugo says. may and Alex gather around me. "okay, so we know that this may be district 4. but, as far as we know, it could just as well be hell. I say we go south, and get everyone else first. then go to the house parts and search the whole arena for things useful. then we can search the shops for anything useful.any objections?" I say feeling powerful.

No one said anything but  May is kinda glaring at Crystal. "alright then.Let's go." I say and headed south and  they follow me. I cut through the little forest of district 4. the layout of district 4 is simple, really. Up north of the map is where all where the houses are, and to the left close is the shops,(bakery,medicine center etc.) and south of that is the beautiful beach of district 4. the careful waves perfectly lapping on the smooth cold sand. towards the west is the train station. you could see the big creates with the capital seal on it from a mile away.  towards the east is a meadow that kids usually play in. its right next to the school. I didn't think I would be back here... I say entering the edge of the little forest. "what the he-" the

boy from 8 starts. " she. is. with. me. okay?" I say hotly. "umm, agreed, Hazel calm down." Hugo says dropping a hand on my shoulder.

"well, have you guys devolped a plan yet?" Wiley asks.

"yes, we have." I explain the plan to everyone while my little group keeps guard. "any objections?" no one, again, objected.

We start towards the houses, or north and barely anyone speaks. when we reach the houses the other tribute from district 11 is there. He has broad in the shoulders. and that's about it. he has a narrow frame that looks weird with his shoulders that sag. he has bronze skin that looks like he got a really bad tan. His eyes is what I notice,though. there sickly blue. like the beach in district 4 itself. with a hint of green, the eyes look like he came from district 4.    "Please don't kill me!" he begs,"I just wanna see this world a little longer! Please!" his eyes drift to Crystal.

" Crystal, a little help here?" he whispers to  Crystal. " No. kill him. cause that's what happened to my brother when he wouldn't give you the girl. Good bye. but now you may join my brother." she says calmly.

"Are you sure?" I ask her. After a few minutes she says," yes. but may I?" she asks. "of course. just let the knife slip out of your hand. its very easy." I say and throw a knife directly above his head. " Stay. There." I hiss at him. she tries it at a wall at first. then she throws it at him. in the stomach. ouch.  " She was so beautiful. I just wanted her and he was in..." says the boy from 11 but trails off as death takes him slowly. then his cannon goes off. "take his things and search the house." I order and start up stairs.  This house seems roughly familiar. then I know what it is. "ahhhh!" I scream. Hugo raced up there with may and  crystal on his heels. "what is it?" he asks. I start rocking on the bed. like a child. "this is Gabby's house. Gabby is my best friend." The dead silence is worse then anyone saying anything and I really wish someone would break the tension. " Hey guys, look at this." Wiley called from down stairs. I stumbled down the stairs with Hugo on my heels. everyone else following carefully. I see that Wiley has a huge chest filled with weapons. " What the hell?" May says. " Well Gabby really is defensive." Hugo replies. "Well take them!" I say to Wiley and everyone. one by one we each go up to the crate and get a weapon. it starts to get dark out so we head to a big house that seems huge for district 4. its seems very familiar. I slowly rub the wood that is very familiar. " well, don't tell me this is your house." may says as she sees me run my fingers along the wood. " Um, no. its my house." Hugo says. "but, it does seem familiar. the house I mean." I say. we head in, me scouting first. we all settle in a bedroom. me and Hugo take the first watch. we don't talk for a while, just stand watch. till he speaks.

"I was the mayers kid. But he insisted on checking on the docks one time. We were on a boat, and it tipped. but my fathers jacket slipped off and the boat trapped him.  he soon suffocated while I went to get help. ever since I thought it was my fault." he says. He looks at my eyes, now full of sympathy. " my older sister died in the games when I was 12. she volunteered for me, and was so close to winning. she was in the top 2. but the boy from-"I start but he finishes," District 2 stabbed her. I watched intently that year for my brother that couldn't. They were dating, you know. he couldn't stop crying."

" Neither could I." I say. then I break down. I just break down. the tears just keep coming and won't stop. Hugo pulls me in a hug. "thank you,Hugo. I appreciate it so... so much." I stammer.

But I soon see some one behind him. "Hugo-" I say but quickly pull out my knives and whip one at the attacker.  I hit her in the leg and pull away from Hugo and push him over by the others. its the girl from District 2. Apparently May didn't Finnish her. She's quick, and throws something at my thigh where the boy from 2 shoved a sword there. i call out in agony when Hugo pushes me and fights her while I get everyone up. But May is missing. we run outside quickly. Hugo kills the girl and runs out while the cannon goes off. " Hugo, stay with me, Wiley take everyone else somewhere safe!" I shout. Hugo picks his way out of ashes. "where did the ashes come from?" I ask. " the trees burned a long time ago and we left the ashes to Remind us." he says, carefully picking up his trident.

I didn't realize he had it. Then out of no where, pain stabs me and so much force from something-a knife- knocks me down as I search my body for the wound. Hugo suddenly disappears. I don't know why. Then May is there. " You really think I want a mental Little girl boss me around?" May says," If you do then you are definitely not smart." she says and winks. Then the vision comes to mind, of the two girls. but it cuts off right before the bigger one stabs the smaller one,me. "Well, I'll enjoy this." she says with a smile. I start to back away. then she raises the knife. it comes down and pains spreads all over. but, the pain is bearable. and I see someone shot her with a arrow. but just grazed her arm. the same she did with the knife on me. just grazed my arm. so while she's in slight shock, I jump up and kick her into the side 2 times and she falls down. I keep kicking her till my foot almost gives out. but, no cannon. I crouch down and say," I'll enjoy this." and drive a knife through her neck. Then a cannon goes off. and I find myself more tired then I thought I would be. I get up and look for Hugo. I find him in the bushes, passed out. "Hugo!" I exclaim and run to him. I put his head in my lap and look down at him. I press two fingers to his neck where a heartbeat should be there.
