After Kaz and Inej left Wylan's place they went back to the slat.
Kaz walked in the door to the Crow Club and nodded at the people working. He went upstairs to his room and shut the door behind him.
He felt Inej's presence there but decided to act like he didn't know. He took is coat off, put his Crow cane in the corner. He had a grey buttoned up shirt on under his coat. He pushed up his sleeves and splashed water on his face.
He unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and took off his shoes.
"What business, Wraith?" Kaz asked smiling to himself.
Inej sat on Kaz's bed and looked at him.
"Just wanted to talk to you" Inej replied.
"About?" Kaz said leaning against the wall.
"Well, maybe you could explain why you kissed me" Inej said standing up.
Kaz blushed and looked out the window.
"I am sorry, I shouldn't have done that" Kaz said looking at her.
Inej smiled and Kaz could see the light freckles on her face below her eyes and the messy but beautiful braid resting on her shoulder.
She walked closer to Kaz and looked him in the eye with a soft grin.
"You finally apologized, but I didn't need an apology for that" Inej said blushing.
Kaz smiled and took Inej's hand and pulled her closer to him. He was surprised that he didn't flinch or feel nauseous, instead he felt the desire to hold and kiss Inej. He wanted to actually make love to her.
"Are you okay?" Inej asked giggling.
"Ya, I think I am" Kaz said grabbing Inej's waist and pulling her close.
Inej let out a surprised yelp and smiled.
"Saints, what happened to Kaz Brekker?"
Kaz put his forehead to her's and kissed her nose.
"I guess Wylan was right, I do have to admit my love for you" Kaz said
Inej laughed
"I guess I have to admit my love for Dirty Hands, the bastard of the barrel too" Inej said laughing.
Kaz moved a stray hair away from Inej's eyes.
Inej just smiled and blushed while putting her arms around Kaz's neck.
"I've loved you for a long time Kaz" Inej said
Kaz paused and then kissed her. The urge to show Inej just how much he loved her was clawing at him.
Inej deepened the kiss and started running her hands through Kaz's hair.
Inej wanted this for a while, she wanted to be able to wake up next to Kaz every morning and eventually have a family with him. But she knew that would be far fetched at this point, maybe one day. Inej just wanted this moment to last for an eternity.
Kaz pushed her up against the wall and started kissing her neck. Inej let out a slight moan and started unbuttoning Kaz's shirt.
Once the shirt was off Inej was running her hands up and down Kaz's muscular body.
Inej was wearing a buttoned up lace shirt and Kaz was trying to take it off of her but he didn't have the patience so he just ripped it off of her body.
