Holly's POV

The sun rose slowly over the horizon, waking me from my sleep to find that the other girls were already awake.

"It's about time, sleeping beauty," Faye called out when she saw me sitting up.

"What time is it?"

"It's about get your ass up o'clock in the morning," Kayla replied, smiling widely," I went scouting this morning. I found the next human town about 600 miles away. Less than a few hours journey."

"Let's go then," I replied while standing and brushing myself off.

This time tomorrow I could be at home and in my own bed. I can see Holly and Luke and the Luna and Alpha and Kian.

Shit, Kian!

Kian, Kian are you there?

Holly? I'm here. What's wrong?

We've found a human town, that's where we're heading now. I'm going to contact the pack as soon as we get there. You should do the same.

I... Yeah, I guess I will. The pack will just have to grab me on the way.

Okay, I'll see you soon.

See you soon.

My wolf was whimpering inside as I finished off the conversation with Kian, she could feel his wolf's disappointment at not being the person to rescue us. It's actually a little... heartwarming to know that at least his wolf cared in that way.

Mine growled at the thought.

We never had a chance, wolf. It's something we need to respect.

He came out here to get us.

Out of duty.

You must have faith, human. Please, please have faith.

No.

I cut off our conversation and moved to the rest of the group who were already excitedly talking about what they'd do when they got back. They didn't stop talking about it, not even for a second, we continued walking and they just kept on talking.

Ulijana was going to call her parents first thing.

Kayla was hopping on the first plane back to Africa to rejoin her pack on the tribal lands.

Faye was going to take her wolf for a run- a real run.

Me? I was going to hug my brother and sister.

We were so engrossed in talking about it that we didn't even notice him sneak up on us. Before we knew it we were face to face with a lycan.

You see, in the supernatural community there are 3 horrible beings we try to avoid; rouges, hybrids and lycans. All dangerous, all wolves. This is because werewolves are most likely to loose control because of our heightened senses and emotions.

Lycans are somewhat like werewolves, just a hell a lot meaner and less self control. They are by far the most fear in all the supernatural community, even hybrids are more accepted than them. They can't control themselves when they shift like us and when they shift they're bigger and stronger than any werewolf, before they shift they're bigger and stronger than any human. Lycans are always male, no matter what. They're always strong, no matter what. They're always dark, no matter what.

And I don't mean their fur color.

"Look what we have here," he spoke with a slight Scottish accent," A couple of sheep strayed from the herd."

"We aren't sheep," Kayla replied to him, protectively stepping in front of Ulijana and Faye.

Faye was practically a baby still and Ulijana is weaker than a newly hatched duckling. They need protection. He must have sensed that because his eyes flew to them and he licked his lips.

"'Couple a lookers, too. How would you ladies like to meet someone special?"

"How would you like to see what 3 Oracles can do to a tiny lycan?"

"3? You expect me to believe that blondie here is an Oracle? How stupid do you think I am?"

Kayla and I shared a look. If the vamps believed it, why didn't he?

Because he's a lycan, not a vampire. I thought you were supposed to be smart.

Shut up.

He began to circle us. My wolf was crying and screaming out to Kian's and I let her. In fact, I let her take over everything, just after I let out one of my own alert messages.

Kian, where are you?

Kian's POV

My wolf was squirming for control for a solid minute and a half before I got the message from Holly. Something's wrong. I gave my wolf control of our body so he could track her better.

I'd been stuck inside for too long. I should have been out the moment he decided to go get mate. The moment I was in control I used all my tracking abilities to find out where my beautiful mate was.

West.

I ran west. I didn't even have to go far, we'd been following their trail for almost half an hour after we got the message saying they'd be in a town soon. We found their campsite and by the looks of it they were traveling in a group with one extra person. A witch that I owed a big thank you for making the lights howl.

I heard a loud growl reverberate through the air. The same kind of growl that Holly let out when Luke and Mike were fighting in the hallway.

The night I marked her.

My paws went twice as fast, the fastest I've ever gone in the direction of my mate, the promise of her sweet scent and soft fur more than enough to get my morale high once more. Then I saw her.

She was hung on the back of a changed lycan with her teeth sunk into his shoulder while two other wolves tried to get him from other sides. She's so courageous and full of strength. I didn't forget to remind Kian of our little deal, it's obvious her wolf is in control.

Mine.

He didn't respond, which is good because I was less than in the mood to hear it. I ran forward and propelled myself onto the back of the lycan, taking him down if for nothing more than surprise. Horatia and Ara got out of the way and so did the other wolf- I don't recognize her- but mate didn't move.

I growled at the other girls to run, an order they listened to because of my Alpha blood while I went over to Holly and grabbed her to start dragging her in the direction of the town.

We're almost there, love. I promise we're almost there.

So, so sorry I missed the update! My wifi wasn't working. Sorry.
