Kian's POV
Mike didn't go to another meeting about Holly after that, Luke, Nova, my parents, Lila and I are the main group. Together we've narrowed down a few places to look now that we have an inkling of who might have taken her.
They were all in a meeting right now while I spent time with Lila's newfound mate, Heath, while the others discussed a backup plan incase she wasn't still alive.
I refused to be in the room with them while they talked about that so here I am with the world's whitest wolf.
I don't even mean that as an insult. He just looks like Malfroy's paler twin.
Heath has skin that almost matches the couch in the game room, his eyes are light brown and he's actually really built for someone his age. He's 17. He's huge. His darkest feature is his very light brown hair whish almost matches his eyes.
The guys actually a big softy, especially around Lila. They've known each other for a few days, he was part of the scouts from a nearby pack that came to help us find Holly, but they're already head over heals for each other. The other day I saw him giving her a piggy back ride through the halls.
It makes my heart ache that I never did anything for Holly.
Now we might loose her.
I know.
It's all your fault.
I know.
I told you countless times to break up with Hannah but you didn't listen to me.
I know.
He shut up after the last "I know". We've been arguing more lately and he's been shaming me a lot, I've been letting him. Lila is like the wolf outside me. She acts just like him.
I never knew the wrath of a best friend until now and it's not an enjoyable experience, let me tell you. I can't even walk into a room with out her glaring at me, when she does talk to me it's more her yelling at me or chastising me, she didn't even want me to sit out here with Heath like I was going to contaminate her perfect mate.
We haven't spoken to each other since he came out to sit with me. He twiddled his thumbs and I stared at the wall.
The first thing I did after talking to my parents was go to Hannah. I told her I couldn't be with her anymore, she went over to a desk or something but stopped when I mentioned that I'd already talked to my parents about the whole Holly thing.
She was really mad about it, so mad to the point where she left the pack house to return to being a rouge. Every now and then I think I see her wolf in the forest but then it's gone.
This is all really confusing.
Soon enough the meeting ended and Nova came out to tell me the basis of it. Luke didn't even look my way. Ever since he found out about my mating with his baby sister he hasn't really talked to me either.
"How did it go?"
"We decided that if we found out Holly was dead and we weren't able to retrieve a body then we'd fill a casket with her belongings and bury her with our parents."
I nodded and turned my head to look away. I don't like the thought of her not coming home. I need her to come home. I need to apologize. I have to make it up to her. She needs to know that I love her, I want her. She has to know things about me.
Her perfume doesn't smell half as amazing as her natural scent.
I hate her meditation CDs.
She's the most beautiful person in the world to me.
I loved her book on phycology.
After she originally went missing I kept sneaking into her room to read it after every one went to sleep. It was actually pretty awesome. Recently I decided there was no point of sneaking and just went into her room anyway.
That's where I went right after talking to Nova.
God, her room smells amazing.
Someone tried to come in to clean it yesterday but I made it very clear that wasn't happening. No cleaning supplies were coming in here, no other wolves, no one but me.
They might take her smell away. That's not happening.
I sat down on her bed and picked up another book that was hers; her dairy. I found it the first time I came in here after finding the book on phyc but never opened it out of respect. That doesn't mean I can't hold it and wonder what kind of secrets are locked inside.
Does it have anything on me? On other guys? Maybe something about me from before we mated?
That would be amazing, if she liked me before we mated.
Our mating was incredibly rare, most mates live far away from each other and meet one day by chance of fate. It's almost never seen that a wolf would mate with another that's been around him as long as she has been around me. I wonder why it took us so long to recognize each other.
Why did it?
I can't say, i-its really blurry.
Hm. I flopped back on her bed, thinking about what she would think of the scent I'm leaving on it. Will she like it? Will she be mad that I'm invading her space? I know I wouldn't if she did this to me. She can go through my room all she wants, she can scour every inch of that place and I wouldn't give a damn.
My thoughts wandered off as I fell asleep in the comfort of her room.
_____
It was dark when I woke up, but I don't really mind. It was still the best sleep I've had in a long time. I know why I woke up though.
My damned arm.
That pain was soaring through it again, twice the pain for no reason. Holly was feeling this but worse right now. The thought made me sick to my stomach.
When it lessened I took a moment to try to smell her scent in the room but it had faded. It smelled like me now. My head flew around when I caught the faint feeling of a breeze.
Someone had come in and opened the window.
My breathing got shallower and I felt the sudden urge to break something. She was gone and now her room doesn't even smell like her. It's gone, all gone!
I couldn't stop my wolf from taking over and my vision went dark.
The room loosing her scent was the last straw. When he got just a little bit upset I gained the edge I needed to take over. Our eyes went dark and I practically took the door off the handles when I ran out of the house.
I changed when I felt the air fly through my hair, needing to feel it through my fur. The woods were nothing, I could navigate them with my eyes closed- which I might as well have been doing with the lighting the moonless night provided- my paws kicked up fresh earth, creating the tracks my family would need to find me.
I would have her with me though.
The spot we found her phone was the first place I went to, then I just thought. The phone was found here, where is the closest assumed place?
North-east.
So I ran north-east.
