"You know that I'm so grateful to have you as my best friend right? I love you." Maya said to Lucas.
"Of course I know that Maya, I love you way more."
Maya and Lucas have been best friends for as long as they can remember. They've been through so much together but have always stuck together through it all. They both have feelings for each other but they haven't told each other...mainly because Maya has been dating Josh for a about 4 months now. Tonight Maya was going on a date with Josh because they haven't had much time with each other because Josh has been busy with work lately.
"How much longer do you have until you have to get ready for your date?"
"About an hour. Until then do you want to watch one more movie?"
"Anything you want" Lucas said looking at Maya with a smile.
Maya snuggled her head into Lucas' chest while he was just admiring Maya's beauty at she looked for a movie with a smile across her face that could just light up his whole world. God, I love you he thought.
"Lucas?" Maya said bringing Lucas out of his thoughts
"Yea?"
"Did you hear me? I asked if this movie is okay with you?"
It was The Longest Ride. The movie they watched when Lucas realized he loved Maya, little did he know, it was likewise for Maya.

The movie was coming to an end and it was almost time for Maya to leave to get ready for her date.
"Well, it's about time for me to leave."
"Ok, have fun and call me if you need anything"
"I will, huckleberry"
Maya was getting up on the couch but her foot got caught up in one of the blankets and she accidentally fell back onto the couch as she landed and Lucas' lap. They just stared at each other when all of a sudden they both started leaning in and when Maya's phone buzzed and they stopped. Maya closed her eyes and sighed. She picked up her phone and saw it was a text from Josh - "Can't wait for our date tonight. ♥️"
"It's Josh, I-I should go get ready...ive already wasted a little time."
Lucas was a little disappointed, I mean, he was about to kiss the love of his life but as always Josh had to mess it up.
"Yeah, no! Go."
"Lucas"
"I love you"
"I love you too"
If only she knew what way he meant it.

Maya decided to not wear anything too fancy for the date so she just chose a loose black dress with thin straps.
