Maya POV
I was about to do this and no one was going to stop me. Everything has become too much for me and I can't handle it, I only have one good thing in my life and I'm mostly likely going to screw that up too, soon.
As I held the blade in my hand I decided to call him one last time, too hear his voice and say goodbye.
Phone Call:
-Ringing-
Lucas: Hello?
Maya: Hey.
Lucas: Hey baby, are you ok? You sound like you're crying.
Maya: Don't worry about me. I'm going to be fine, ok? Just know that I love you so much and nothing will ever change that.
Lucas: Maya, what's going on?
Maya: I'm so sorry, Lucas
Lucas: Maya talk to me!
Maya: Goodbye
-End of Call-
I was shaking and in complete tears now. I don't want to leave him but I know that if I stay, I'll lose him anyway.
Before he could have the chance to stop me, I took the blade and quickly slit my wrist vertically 3 times.
Lucas POV
I was running as fast I could to reach Maya. After that phone call, I've been so worried. I can't lose her, she's everything to me.
When I finally reached her apartment complex I rushed up to her door and went in looking everywhere for her.
"MAYA? MAYA?" I yelled.
I ran to the bathroom and kicked down the door to see a sight that broke me. Maya was laying on the floor with her wrists slit.
"No, No, No!"
Tears were just streaming uncontrollably out of my eyes.
"Please don't leave me! I need you, please!"
I checked for a pulse and luckily she still had one. I quickly grabbed my phone and called for ambulance. After about 5 minutes, they arrived and got her onto a stretcher and put her into the ambulance with me in the back with her. I held her hand as we rushed quickly to the hospital. Luckily her apartment wasn't that far.
As we arrived to the hospital they ran in with her on the stretcher, calling for other nurses and doctors. Then they started taking her in the back and I tried to go back with them but a doctor stopped me.
"I'm sorry but you can't come back here"
"What do you mean I can't go back there? That's my girlfriend!"
"I'm sorry, I know this is scary but please just let me do my job"
And with that he left. I went into the waiting room, I was pacing back and forth just thinking about how I could have been there to stop her but I wasnt, I wasn't there for her. I kicked the nearest chair next to me and just screamed.
I sat down and did the last thing I could think of.
"I don't know if you're real or not or if you hear me but if you are and you can..please don't take Maya away from me. Please, I love her so much. I want to be able to marry her, have kids with her, and grow old with her. That girl means the entire world to me, I can't live without her. So, I'm begging you! If you hear me, please don't take her away from me." I said with tears streaming down my face.

*2 1/2 hours later*
I had fallen asleep in the waiting room when a doctor had come and waken me up.
"Excuse me? Sir"
"Yes?"
"Are you the boyfriend of Maya Hart?"
I quickly stood up.
"Yes, that's me. I'm Lucas Friar"
"Well, I'm here to tell you that Ms. Hart lost a great amount of blood and we really thought the chances of her surviving were very slim."
"Thought?"
"She's a fighter, Lucas. It was a miracle. I don't know how it happened but your girlfriend is very lucky to be alive"
I started crying once again, very uncontrollably. I went up to the doctor.
"Thank you so much!"
"You're welcome."
We pulled away from the hug and I dried my tears.
"Can I see her now?"
"Of course! Follow me."
The doctor led me to the room Maya was in.
"Okay so before you go in, she isn't awake just yet. She's...in a slight coma for now but it shouldn't last long maybe for only a month or two but she can hear you!"
"Oh, ok. Thank you."
I walked into the room and sat down beside Maya in the bed and held her hand. She looked so beautiful.
"Hey baby, I'm so glad you're alive! — I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you. I should've been there, to hug you and comfort you and to let you know you aren't alone. Maya, you always have me ok? I'm always going to be here for you. Through thick and thin, you can always come to me about anything and I swear on everything we will get through it together because my love for you grows stronger each and every day. You're everything to me, Maya. I love you so much."
I felt Maya's hand tighten around mine and I looked at her and saw a tear streaming down her cheek. I wiped it away with my thumb.
I looked up and just smiled.
"Thank you."
