Getting coffee with Sydney was WAY too long. I felt as if It was a decade. All I could do was stare at my phone. “Claudia? I feel as if you’re not paying attention. This is your future, your career, we need to talk about these things. Is there something on your mind?” She looks at me closely. What did she know. “Uh no one.” I look at her and smiled. “I never said it was a person.” She looks at me questioningly. “Well I mean no one and nothing.” I try to save myself but I know she’s caught on. “Claudia are you or are you not with Harry.” She just blurts it out as if that’s what she’s been trying to get to. “No, I told the radio host, I’m not.” I try to sound convincing but it’s not working. “Bull shit you can lie to a radio host you can’t lie to your manager.” She’s getting very serious. I lean over and quiet down. “Ok ok, I am. But look, it’s not really dating, we’ve just hung out at his hotel a couple of times. I don’t know if he wants anything more. ” I gave in pretty easy but at this point I just needed to tell somebody. And I trusted Sydney. “Well do you want more?” She looks at me half smiling. This is what I loved about her, she was like my best friend when I didn’t have one. I giggle to myself involuntarily “Well, I mean, I don’t know. That’s what I want to talk with him about… tonight… at 8…” I look to the side almost asking for her permission. “Well it’s 6 right now you got 2 hours go get ready!” She looks excited, this is slightly weird but Im just glad I finally told someone. “You are the best manager ever.” I lean over to hug her and grab my coffee, “I’ll call you to see how it goes!” she screams behind me I yell “Alright!” and run out of there and into my car as fast as I could.
