Tiffany Johnson

I snuggle into the blankets more but open my eyes slightly to peek around when I hear muffled talking. The light from the familiar window in the familiar room shines bright as I look around to see it as I left it when I got my stuff. I furrowed my eyebrows as I sit up and then looked at the water bottle and Advil on the nightstand and toke one.

I set the Advil bottle back down along with my water bottle that was missing a drink now. I stood up after putting my shoe on and slid my phone it my pocket that was on the night stand. I limped out of the room and the muffled voices became clearer, Johnson and Nate.

"There she is." Johnson smiled and came over to hug me.

"Wha-"

I was cut off my Jack's voice, "We got the food."

I turned around to see Jack and Sam holding three bags of McDonald's. "Good morning," Sam smile as he set the bags on the counter.

"I'm gonna go." I mumble and started for the front door.

I heard a sigh or two and some whispering by the time I closed the front door. I sighed as I patted my pockets for my phone to find it not there.

I sighed again when I heard the front door open. "I took your phone last night to charge it, here." Gilinsky said holding my phone out. I gave a small forced smile as I grabbed it from his hand not looking up at him.

"Thanks." I mumbled out. It was quiet for a moment as I stared down at my phone. I sighed as I unlocked it and went to order a Uber. "How'd I get here?" I questioned quietly, not knowing if he heard it.

We were facing the street and standing next to each other.

"Taylor brought you here," he explained, his voice wasn't quiet but it wasn't loud either. "You were drunk." He said softly with a sigh as I ordered my Uber, it was suppose to be here in around five minutes. "I saw you went live the other day," he said.

"Yeah," I whispered still looking down.

"Okay, look we need to talk." He said his tone getting serious.

"No," I shook my head but still never meeting his eyes. "We can't."

He stepped in front of me facing me and put his hand under my chin lifting my head up to look at him. Even though I could of easily meet his eyes I didn't, I stared down but I could easily see him scanning my face.

"Why?" He spoke after a moment. "Why can't we talk?" He asked. He was still holding my chin up. "Actually, don't answer, just listen."
He said softly. "Every time we break up, or whatever, you always call us off and walk away when it should be a two way street." He said. "I'm gonna be honest, I know I've messed up, more times than I'd like to admit. But," he sighed. "It's, its not only my fault," he stuttered a little.

I finally made eye contact with him and furrowed my eyebrows. "How is it my fault too? I never made you sleep with Madison, multiple times." I started still looking up at him. "I neve-"

"I meant I may have done kinda of commitment issues but you do too." He said.

I scoffed. I stepped back causing his hand that was under my chin to fall to his side. "I never cheated or did any shit when me and you were together or whatever we were at some points."

How could I have some commitment issues? I never did shit, if he didn't go off and fuck Madison every chance he got our messed up relationship would be totally different then.

"Every chance you got, you would run away from what ever we had or were trying to have." He said. My Uber pulled up and drew our attention to it. I looked back at him and shook my head. "You wouldn't stay to try and work it out."

"Jack," I shook my head again and started to walk to the Uber. "I don't, I was hurt every time  and I couldn't sit there and try to work out without thinking about it but then I'd just throw what I promised myself away. I would promise myself I wouldn't go back to you, every time, but I'm weak with is why I left because you hurt me."

I opened the back door to the Uber and got in. Jack instantly jogged up before I could close the door.

"See," he said. "Your leaving again, before we can work us out."

"No," I shook my head. "I'm leaving because I'm tired of getting hurt Jack." I said. "Every month it seems like I get hurt and I, I can't." I sighed and reached for the door and shut it.

Jack stood there with his jaw clenched as he stared at me threw the window. I told the Uber drive he could go and he drove off.
