I walked into the mall with my cousin, and took in the sight of all the stores. It was a lot to take in . I haven't been in a mall in a long time. She looked at me, and the question popped up.
"So... they really did give you up for freedom?" She said quietly, almost scared to ask.
"Yes that's right. Complete bullshit." I said wanting to change the topic.
"Well then how'd you get out to come with me?" She said confused.
"I snuck out." I said proud, and smiled .
"Well that was a stupid idea." She said almost disappointed in me.
I walked ahead of her and saw Hollister, and walked in. I hated the scent of this store, but I loved their clothes. I grabbed a white lace 3/4 sleeve top, and went to the dressing room to try it in. I slipped it over my head, and then remembered I had no money. It fit amazing. I exited the dressing room, and did a model walk for my cousin. She applauded and begged me to get it. She walked over to the shorts rack, and grabbed an extremely short pair. I raised an eyebrow at her, and she motioned for me to try them on. So I went back into the room, and slipped the shorts on. They barely covered anything, but they covered so that's all that matters. She screeched when I walked out in front of her.
"I am totally buying that for you." She said excited.
"No no it's fine , don't." I said feeling guilty that she wanted to buy it for me.
I went back into the room, and changed into my regular clothes. When I walked out of the room she snatched the clothes from my hand, and took off running up to the register to pay. I quickly ran after her, but I stopped dead in my tracks because I thought I saw Tre's face. I pushed the thought out of my brain. It was impossible for him to find me. I ran and when I finally caught up to her the receipt was printing.
"Haha too slow." She laughed.
"Grrr" I said back, but smiled.
"Welcome" she said happily.
"Thank you so much, but you didn't have to."
She took off out of the store pulling me toward Sephora. Her eyes glued to the sign. I glanced to the right, and what I saw sure as hell ruined any happiness I felt. More like who I saw, and what was about to happen. I stopped in my tracks, and so did she. She looked over to the same area I was and I heard her mumble,
"Oh shit Nat." And then we both took of running.
Why did I ever think I could do this alone? Tre was protecting me and now I'm in danger.
