We pulled into the driveway, and I felt a mix of emotions. I knew for one I needed to apologize to Tre for causing all this trouble. We opened our car doors to get out, and Enrique walked to the trunk to get my cousin out. I ran to Tre, and embraced him.
"I'm so so sorry Tre. I'm so stupid." I mumbled as tears began to flow down my face.
"Hey Nat it's okay. I should have worded things different, and handled things differently. I'm sorry too, and I definitely learned." He stroked my hair as he leaned in to kiss my cheek.
We pulled apart as the trunk slammed shut, and my cousin had tears streaming down her face . Enrique took her into the house, and down the long hallway to the left of the front door. It went past the office of the leader whom I have never seen. It passed the small library are as to which I'm still trying to see a purpose for. It passed the kitchen, and finally led to a door which took you down into the dark cement interrogation room. We all descended the steps and as we hit the floor he guided my cousin to a chair. He pushed her into a sitting position, and chained her tightly to the chair. Then he looked at me, and nodded. I took a deep breath, and decided if I needed to know I needed to know it all.
"So you were on there side?" I asked, and the hurt was clearly visible.
"No Natalia please I wasn't I promise you that. I had to do this to save my life. They have another gang looking for me." She cried .
"I feel betrayed. I trusted you, and you threw me to pieces like this." I spat out.
Enrique busted out laughing, and so did Tre. My cousin was smiling, and I raised an eyebrow in confusion and anger. What was I not understanding here?
Enrique turned to me "Hey Nat... she was sent on a mission to do that. She's my girlfriend, and a member of our gang." He said slowly so I could comprehend.
My mouth opened in shock, and she laughed again.
"I knew Tre would be coming to look for you, and I had to do it so we could get your parents eliminated from the equation." She said with a shrug.
I turned to Tre, but he raised his hands in defense,
"In my defense this wasn't supposed to occur so early, but someone was eager to get away from me." He chuckled.
I stomped up the stairs, and pretended to be mad. I heard footsteps following me, and increased my pace. Halfway up the staircase I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I was twisted around, and Tre planted a kiss right on my lips.
"Hey Natalia, I need to say this. I'm in love with you." He said confidently.
"Been practicing that in the mirror?" I asked jokingly and smacked his shoulder.
"Every night." He replied laughing with me.
We walked back to my room, and laid down to watch a movie. Halfway through my eyelids got heavy, and I laid my head on his chest slowly drifting to sleep.
