Bob slept on the dresser. The girls tried to offer a spot on one of their more comfortable sleeping areas, but he found the cold wood much more favorable. Surprisingly enough, his goopiness didn't stick to anything fabric.
The four of them woke up at about noon. Scarlett, having woken up first, crawled out from her spot under the bed and walked over to Bob. She poked the blob creature, waking it up.
"Hey, little guy." She said. Bob looked up innocently at the dark-haired teen. "I figured I might as well get some bonding time in... Wait, can you even understand English?"
Bob nodded, smiling happily.
"Well, that's good to know. So....... what do you think of us so far?" Scarlett asked.
Bob changed his shape so that he looked like a heart-shaped blob and smiled sheepishly. Scarlett sighed in relief.
After chatting for a bit about what each of them likes and dislikes, Amber and Phoenix woke up to Mrs. Offbrink's call for food.
"Phoenix..... why did you sleep in the closet?" Mrs. Offbrink asked once eggs and toast were made.
Phoenix smirked. "Because I wanted to. That closet is huge."
"Did you know that there's enough room for someone to sleep under the bed? I tested that last night." Scarlett added, munching happily on her plate of eggs. "These eggs and toast are great, by the way!"
"Thank you," Mrs Offbrink replied. "Oh yeah, how's the little blob guy doing?."
"Oh, Bob?" Amber asked, having finished her breakfast. "He's doing great so far!"
Bob started inching closer towards a bowl of strawberries.
"Oh, you want one?" Mrs. Offbrink asked. Bob looked up at her hungrily. He nodded his blob head, practically drooling. Mrs. Offbrink handed them a strawberry. Bob took a bite out of it, and their face lit up like Christmas lights.
Bob immediately scarfed down the rest of the strawberry, then scrambled off towards the rest of the bowl.
After about three or four more strawberries, Mrs. Offbrink picked up the bowl. "Alright, Bob. That's enough for now." She said. "You don't want to run out for later, now do you?"
Bob pouted for a bit, clearly wanting to eat the whole world's supply of strawberries. They even sat in the shape of a strawberry as an attempt to convey this.
Amber picked up several strawberries and put them in a plastic box. "This can be for later. Do you guys wanna go down to The Clearing?" She asked. Phoenix and Scarlett nodded, and they walked down the trail.
When the girls and Bob arrived, they were dumbfounded by what they saw. Victor, his little brother Cain, and Brian were in their swim trunks sitting in large plastic tubs filled to the brim with water from the nearby stream.
"What..... are you two doing??" Amber asked, trying to hold back her laughter.
"Swimming!" Victor exclaimed.
"Cool." Phoenix said, showing no emotion in her expression. "But don't we have a stream for that?"
Brian nodded. "Yep. That's where we got the water."
Amber's eyes lit up with an idea. "Why don't we dump the water on the trampoline?"
After they agreed, everyone carried the tubs to the trampoline and dumped the water out on top. Bob, who freaked out the moment someone jumped on the trampoline, sat down in the treehouse munching on some strawberries. Then they jumped on the trampoline for a while, spraying water everywhere with every jump. Every few minutes one of them would go chill with Bob so that he wasn't lonely.
After about an hour of being on the tramploine, everyone went back to Amber's house to watch anime. This only lasted through about half an episode, though, as Amber and Victor's father showed up to take them to a nearby creek all the locals liked to hang out at. The girls changed into their swimsuits and everyone climbed into Mr. Offbrink's truck.
Cain, Bob, and Mr. Offbrink sat in the front. The rest of them? They sat in the very back of the truck. The older children spent the entire ride chatting about music, tv shows, and Bob.
"Hey guys, look! Is that it over there?" Scarlett asked excitedly.
"Yeah, actually." Brian said.
The truck came to a stop next to a couple of other cars. Everyone climbed out of the truck, ready to jump into the creek before them. Scarlett and Phoenix, having never been here before, were awestruck by what they saw.
Mr. Offbrink closed the driver's side door of the truck, amused by the sisters' faces.
"Welcome to Insanity Creek."
