Scarlett turned around as much as she could. In the tree next to her, there was a small red dragon. His scales shined in the sunlight, and his golden eyes reflected the water to make them appear orange.

"You could?" Scarlett asked. "But how?"

"Watch this." He said, flying off of his branch. As he did so, he grew several feet in size. The dragon picked up Scarlett with his talons and set her gently into the water.

Victor practically squealed in amazement. "WOAH! That was so COOL!" He exclaimed.

Phoenix leaned against another tree, arms folded. Her eyes showed no emotion, though internally she was impressed. However, she preferred not to show her excitement. She didn't know this dragon yet. How did she know if he was trustworthy or not?

"What's your name?" Phoenix asked.

The dragon returned to his small size. "Oh, me? My name's Havoc." He said, folding his bat-like wings.

Bob, who was on Phoenix's shoulder, glared at Havoc.

"Cool!" Scarlett exclaimed, practically bouncing in place. She pointed to her sister, nearly dropping the purple stone in the process. "I'm Scarlett, and that girl over there is Phoenix. The two redheads are Amber and Victor." As she said this, Havoc glanced over at the purple stone and at Phoenix.

Brian stuck his feet back into the water. "I'm Brian," he said causally. "You seem cool."

Scarlett nodded. "You can say that again!" She exclaimed. She was about to say something else until she felt something - no, someONE - grab her wrist. She turned around, expecting a human. Her expectations couldn't have been further from the truth.

She was staring into the white, soulless eyes of a shadow.

"Why, hello there!" The shadow chirped, grinning at the brown-haired girl in front of him.

Scarlett could hear Havoc growling at this shadow. She could tell her friends were ready to fight, too. This didn't include Phoenix. She waited a few moments before she spoke so she could think about what would be appropriate to say.

"Who are you, and why does it seem like you want to attack us?" Scarlett asked. There was a slight hint of fear in her voice, but to the untrained ear she sounded calm and firm.

The shadow tightened his grip on Scarlett's wrist, causing her to flinch. "My name's Commander X," He said, "and you have something I need."

"Really? Like what?" Scarlett retorted.

"The Heart of Entropy on your bracelet. And actually....." Commander X turned his head towards Phoenix. "The Dissonance Dewdrop on her choker, too."

Havoc flared his wings. "L E T .  H E R .  G O ," He roared. With widened eyes, Commander X loosened his grip on Scarlett with fear, then dissapeared. Scarlett fell into the water.

Victor ran up to Havoc and hugged him. "THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!" he exclaimed.

Scarlett sat up. "Thank you, Havoc. What... just happened?"

Havoc sighed. "He's the leader of the Shadow Army. They've been trying to find the Chaotics for centuries now, and it seems that you and Phoenix are Chaotics.

Scarlett examined the wrist Commander X had grabbed. "Chaotics? What's a Chaotic?" She asked.

"Oh, they're a team of superheroes from a thousand years ago. Major rivals of the Shadow Army. I believe the thing you're wearing on your wrist once belonged to Entropy. Your friend over there-"

Phoenix turned into a dragon. " I am NOT her 'f r i e n d .'"

"Geez, kid-"

"I'm not a 'k i d' either."

"Fine. Grump over there seems to have the choker that belonged to Dissonance. Basically, it's why she can transform. I believe the Heart of Entorpy allows for teleportation, telekinesis, and...... there was one other thing......"

Scarlett gasped. "Wait, so I have superpowers now?! COOL!!!" She immediately thought about being on the sand on the opposite shore. Within a moment, she was there. She teleported back with a smile on her face.

"Holy sugarmuffins, I love this!!" Then she noticed how awestruck Amber and Victor were. "How many Chaotics were there?" She asked Havoc.

"Seven, I believe." Havoc scratched at his scales. "Anarchy controlled fire, Discord created illusions, Turmoil had a connexion with animals, Mayhem controlled wind, Uproar was a master of sound, Dissonance could transform into animals, and Entropy was telekinetic."

Amber had a thoughtful look on her face. "Did they all have stones?"

"Yeah, they did."

"Great!" Victor exclaimed. "We have some finding to do then!!"
