Clarity stopped dead in her tracks as she saw Jessica standing just outside her apartment. A gasp left her lips and she went to slam her door on her rethinking the idea going to play her guitar on the steps as soon as she saw the dark haired woman. Jessica however was faster and put a hand blocking the door. Desperately Clarity tried to shut the door keeping up with Jessica's strength by channeling electricity straight to her muscles.
"How are you even doing that?" Jessica asked eyes wide.
"Leave me alone." Clarity pleaded.
"Not a chance" Jessica said and she kicked Clarity in the gut sending her flying back into her apartment and crashing into a table that broke as Clarity flew into it. Clarity looked up from where she fell terrified.
"Please just leave me alone! I don't want any part of this" Clarity said putting her hands up.
"You have powers" Jessica said slamming the door shut behind her. Clarity flinched and bit her bottom lip.
"I-I'm sorry" Clarity said instantly.
"Sorry?" Jessica questioned confused by the answer.
"I never asked to be like this." Clarity said shaking her head.
"I don't care. I didn't come here to kick your ass Clarity. I came here to ask for your help" Jessica explained.
"I can't help you. I won't. I'd do more harm than good" Clarity said standing up.
"Clarity-"
"I said no! I'm sorry Jessica but, I won't help you. Whatever it is I can't. I don't want anymore lives on my hands than I've already taken." Clarity said shaking her head hugging herself crossing her arms.
"More people are going to suffer if you don't help me stop kill grave" Jessica said in earnest.
"I'll take my chances. Now get the hell out of my apartment" Clarity told her closing Jessica off.
"If you change your mind you know where to find me" Jessica said walking out pissed.
"Not happening" Clarity said and slammed the door behind Jessica. They had a rocky start to their friendship. But that only made it stronger. Like their powers.
